Chapter 479 Kidnapped People
Chapter 479 Kidnapped People
Theodore kept silent, his stare fixed and unyielding on Ethan.
As he watched, it struck him–Ethan’s eyes were the mirror of his father’s.
When Ethan grew stubborn, the resemblance was uncanny.
It was just like 20 years ago, when his own son had stepped in front of him and taken a knife meant for him.
Theodore nearly wept.
Ethan turned away, refusing to meet his gaze.
His eyes fixed on the tightly shut door, the faint smile on his lips fading completely.
He prayed that Sebastian would stay away.
That bastard–Sebastian, the one he could never get along with, the one whose very presence irked him.
He’d spent years wishing Sebastian would pay for his parents‘ deaths.
But now, all Ethan could do was beg, silently, again and again, Don’t come. Please, don’t come.
He knew why they were here. They were bait. If Sebastian showed up, he’d walk right into the trap.
Ethan didn’t want Sebastian to come for him.
He didn’t want to be saved–not by him.
He squeezed his eyes shut and forced the rising wave of emotion back down.

Outside, the one–eyed man smoked, his face lost in shadow.
He nodded at a subordinate. “Bring Jasper.”
Minutes later, a black sedan rolled up to the abandoned warehouse. Jasper emerged and walked swiftly to the one–eyed man.
“Sir.” He offered a small bowW.
The man studied him through a plume of smoke. “Still remember me?”
“Of course,” Jasper replied, meeting his gaze. “In Varindon, I was left for dead. If it wasn’t for you and the lady, I wouldn’t be here owe you everything.”
The man’s single eye glinted with satisfaction.
He pointed at Jasper with his cigarette “Good Remember that.”
Then he pushed open the door and waved Jasper inside.

Ethan was slumped against the wall, his face chalk–white, blood still seeping from his mangled hand, staining the floor.
He gritted his teeth, silent, but his shivering betrayed him.
Theodore was tied up nearby. When Jasper entered, something complicated flickered across Theodore’s face.
Jasper turned away, addressing the one–eyed man.
The man’s voice was slow and deliberate. “Contact Sebastian. Tell him we have his grandfather and cousin. If he wants them alive, he’ll have to trade himself.”
asper paused, then nodded. “Understood.”
Outside, Jasper sat in his car, closed the door, and shut out the world.
le leaned back, unmoving, staring into the middle distance.
long time passed before he finally pulled out his phone.
ebastian’s number lit up the screen.
asper’s finger hovered above the button for ages.
t last, he pressed it.
The phone rang. Sebastian answered, his voice rough and tense. “Talk.”
Sebastian,” Jasper said, his voice level, “Ethan and Theodore are with us. We sent you a greeting. Did you get it?”
here was a pause, then Sebastian’s breathing turned savage and hard.
What did you do?”
Cut a finger,” Jasper replied, glancing at Ethan’s ruined hand. “Ethan’s. He took it himself. Didn’t let them touch Theodore.”
omething crashed violently on the other end.
lebastian’s words came out cold and sharp as broken glass. “You’re all dead.”
One more thing,” Jasper said, his tone unwavering. “You wanted to know what your mother did, why they’ve hunted you for 20
rears.
‘If you want them to live, bring yourself. Three days. Not a second more. I’ll send you the address. No backup, no tricks.”
He ended the call, sent the address, and leaned back, staring at the gray sky through the window.
He thought of Noelle’s eyes–how cold they’d been when she told him, “You have no right.”
He remembered promising, “I would never hurt you.”

He shut his eyes, forcing those thoughts deep down.
He’d warned her to stay away from Sebastian. It was better this way–safer for her. He was doing it for her own good.
