Lily broke down, crying until her voice went hoarse, but it was too late now.

Jillian didn’t hesitate. She waved to the security guards, and they dragged Lily away.

“Tsk. So noisy.” Lucas rubbed his ear, looking relaxed. “That one’s dealt with. Aren’t there still two more?”

Jillian then turned to Willow and Viola. His face was cold. “Mrs. Kain, all the damage caused in our store today must be fully compensated by you. The ruined clothes are worth 200,000 dollars. Please pay immediately. Otherwise, we’ll have no choice but to call the police.”

Those were the exact words they had just used on Noelle.

Now, they were thrown straight back at them.

Willow and Viola’s faces darkened. That money wasn’t a huge sum, but paying it all at once still hurt. What made it worse was Lucas’s clear protection of Noelle.

Why did Noelle deserve that?

“Noelle hit me! That’s why the clothes were ruined!” Willow snapped. “If anyone should pay, it should be Noelle!”

“If you want to argue about responsibility,” Jillian said flatly, refusing to back down, “I can have someone accompany you to the police station to review the security footage.”

Viola clenched her teeth. She looked at Lucas standing beside Noelle, then stepped forward. “Hi, Mr. Lucas. I’m Viola.”

“I don’t care what your name is,” Lucas replied lazily. “It sounds awful.”

Viola bit her lip harder but forced herself to continue. “I don’t know why you’re with Noelle, but I can’t stand by and watch you be tricked. Noelle is ungrateful. My mother took her in and raised her for eighteen years, and she still dared to hit my mom. Someone like that doesn’t deserve your protection.”

She spoke softly, pretending concern. “You’re such a good person, Lucas. I’m worried you’re being tricked by her.” Then she added gently, “Also, did you know Noelle is already married? Her husband is an ugly man, terrible–looking, and his days are numbered.”

“Oh? Is that so?”

Lucas smiled. Suddenly, he raised his voice toward the entrance. “Sebastian, did you hear that? Someone says you’re ugly.”

Noelle immediately turned to look outside.

So did Willow and Viola, without thinking.

A man in a wheelchair was slowly pushed inside. He wore a tailored suit, his presence calm and refined. His legs were disabled, yet his dignity and charm were untouched.

As he entered, everything around him seemed to fade into the background.

A large group followed behind him. Willow and Viola didn’t recognize many of them, but they did spot Vance Franklin, the president of the mall.

They had met him once at a banquet.

This mall was the largest in all of Riverdale. It made tons of money every day. No one ever knew who the true owner was, but countless people were eager to flatter Vance.

So who was this man in the wheelchair? Why was Vance standing behind him so respectfully?

“President!”

Jillian led all the staff in a deep bow. Their voices rang out together.

President?!

Willow and Viola stared at each other in shock. This man in the wheelchair was the president of the mall?

So young! What a shame for him to be disabled.

While they were still stunned by the man’s identity, Noelle suddenly sprang forward. She ran straight to him and threw herself into his arms, her voice full of grievance. “Waaah! Honey, you’re finally here! They’ve been bullying me this whole time!”
