Chapter 530 A Way In
Noelle and the others went inside first.
Sidney was helped into the house and laid down on the bed.
Lara hurried around, bringing in water and fussing about serving drinks to the guests.
“No need to fuss,” Noelle said, stopping her and motioning for her to sit down.

After catching his breath, Sidney leaned against the headboard. Then he suddenly seemed to remember something. His eyes moved across their faces, and he hesitated before speaking. “My saviors… you said earlier that you came from outside?”
The room fell silent for a moment.
Jasper and Lucas exchanged a look but said nothing.
Noelle’s expression didn’t change. She nodded. “Yes. We went out to sea by boat, ran into a storm, and the boat capsized. We drifted here.”
Sidney and Lara exchanged a glance, both of them looking conflicted.
“Our ancestors always said that people from outside… were cruel.” Sidney spoke with some difficulty, as if afraid of offending them. “But you saved my life. You’re not bad people.”
He paused, then continued. “Our island doesn’t allow outsiders. Since you drifted here by accident, and we fish out at sea all the time, we could help you leave.”
“We can’t leave yet,” Noelle said. “When we drifted here, I got separated from my husband. I have to find him before I can go.”
“I see…” Sidney sighed. “But miss, without island registration, if the inspectors find you, you’ll be in serious trouble.”
Lara looked worried too. “That’s right. The inspectors are strict. If they catch anyone without registration, they lock them up. Who knows what they’ll do to you…”
Lucas frowned. “So what do we do? Is there any way to get registration?”
Sidney thought for a moment. Then his eyes lit up. “There is one way.”
Everyone looked at him.
“The Nightfall Circle,” Sidney said. “It’s an organization founded by the Four Great Families. They recruit new people every year. The Nightfall Circle doesn’t care about registration or background. As long as you can pass the test, you’re in. And once you’re in, your registration comes with it.”
Lucas’s eyes lit up. “There’s actually something this good?”
“But…” Sidney added, his tone carrying a trace of awe. “The Nightfall Circle’s entrance test is really hard. Most people can’t get in.”
Noelle, Jasper, and Lucas exchanged a look. They all saw the same thing in each other’s eyes. If they got in, they could get close to the Four Great Families.
It was the best chance to infiltrate from the inside.

And their best chance to find Sebastian.
“How do we sign up?” Noelle asked.
Seeing that she was interested, Sidney quickly explained. “The Nightfall Circle has several divisions. Medicine Department, Guard Department, Records Department… Medicine Department specifically recruits people with medical skills. Miss, your medical skills are so good. You’d definitely have no problem getting into Medicine Department.”
Then he looked at Jasper. After sizing him up from head to toe, he nodded. “This gentleman is solidly built. He looks like he can fight too. He could try Guard Department.”
Then Sidney’s gaze landed on Lucas.
He looked Lucas over several times. He opened his mouth, closed it, then opened it again, clearly hesitating.
Lucas shifted uncomfortably under the stare. “Why are you looking at me like that?”
Sidney stammered a little. “Sir… do you… have any special skills?”
Lucas’s eyes widened. “I’ve got tons of skills!”
“Like what?”
“I can…” Lucas paused and started counting on his fingers. “I can drive! Play cards! Sing! And also…”
“Can you fight?” Sidney asked carefully.
“Of course I can!” Lucas said, thumping his chest.
Sidney looked at Lucas’s fair face, then at his smooth, delicate hands. His expression clearly said, are you sure?
Lucas exploded. “What kind of look is that?! I can do it! I’m very capable! Extremely capable!”
Sidney quickly waved his hands. “That’s not what I meant. I just meant… you look a little… refined…”
Wasn’t that just another way of calling him a pretty boy? Absolutely outrageous.
No man could accept being described like that.
Lucas’s face turned red with anger. “Refined?! Me?! Noey, tell him. How do I look refined?!”
Noelle rubbed her ear helplessly, half–deafened by his loud voice.
Jasper coldly added fuel to the fire. “You’re not refined anywhere, but you do look like you’re not much use.”
“Jasper, shut up!” Lucas snapped. “Just wait until the test. I’ll show you what capable really looks like! I, Lucas, am very capable!”
Sidney shrank back a little, not daring to look at him anymore. He turned to Noelle instead. “The test starts in five days. If you don’t mind, you can stay at my house until then. It’s not much, but at least it’ll keep the wind and rain off you.”
Lara quickly nodded from the side. “Yes, yes, stay here. I’ll go get the room ready!”
Noelle looked at Lucas, then at Jasper, and nodded.

“Then we’ll trouble you for a few days.”
“It’s no trouble at all. As long as you don’t mind.”
Lara turned and went into the inner room. She moved quickly, and before long, she came back carrying several quilts.
They were old and faded from washing, but neatly folded.
