Chapter 82 Go Home
After spending three hours asleep in the wheelchair, his neck was stiff and aching.
The two of them stepped out together, one clutching her waist while the other massaged his neck.
Both of them looked completely worn out.
Primo and Duo were standing outside. When Duo saw the pair, his eyes popped wide, clearly not purely or innocently.
He frantically motioned at Primo with his eyes.
Primo, look! What did Mrs. Menzie and Mr. Menzie do in the room? What happened?
But Primo didn’t respond, mainly because he didn’t even notice the signals.
Duo got annoyed right away.
Hmph! Whatever! I’m done talking to you!
Duo turned away dramatically.
Only then did Primo sense something was wrong. Tilting his head in confusion, he could only see the back of Duo’s head.
He looked completely baffled and helpless. What had he possibly done to upset him?
“Mrs. Menzie, Ms. Yvette has woken up and wants to see you.”
“I’ll go see her.”
In the ward, Yvette, Madeline, and Alina were there.
Alina had come specifically to visit Yvette.
When the Jensens‘ crisis happened, she was stuck in an important international meeting. Outside contact was completely cut off, so she had no idea Yvette had been in danger for hours.
The moment she found out, she rushed straight to the hospital.
“Don’t worry, Alina, I’m fine,” Yvette said softly. “Ms. Kain saved both Madeline and me.”
Madeline sat by the bedside, looking at Yvette with quiet, obedient eyes. All signs of her old rebellious attitude were gone.
She knew Yvette had saved her. Her sister had been willing to risk her life for her. So naturally, she couldn’t remain defiant after
that.
“Ms. Kain!”
Yvette’s eyes brightened as she straightened up.
Noelle opened the door and walked in.

She was still wearing her veil, showing only her cool, sharp eyes.
“Hello, Ms. Kain.” Alina stood up and nodded politely.
Noelle returned the nod and stepped forward, first checking the pulses of both Yvette and Madeline.
“You’re recovering well,” she said with a smile. “Nothing serious. Just take good care of yourselves from now on.”
“Thank you, Ms. Kain,” Yvette said gratefully.
Without Noelle, neither she nor her sister might have survived.
“You saved our lives. You’re our family’s benefactor! If you ever need anything, just tell us. We won’t hesitate!”

“And so will my family,” Alina added, looking at Noelle. “Yvette is my closest friend. By saving her, you saved me as well.
“I won’t call you Ms. Kain anymore–it’s too formal. You’re younger than me, so I’ll call you Noelle. If you ever need my help, I won’t refuse.”
The Guzmans were the most powerful family in Kingstowne, and Alina was their only heiress. Very few people ever received her promise, and she had just given one to Noelle.
Noelle didn’t bother with polite refusals. “Alright. Then I’ll call you Alina.”
She actually liked Alina’s personality.
They soon got down to serious matters.
Yvette had already sent people to investigate, and the one who poisoned Madeline was indeed Anthony.
When Noelle first warned her that Madeline had been poisoned, Yvette had already started checking into it. She had suspected Anthony, but she still held onto a bit of family attachment.
After all, he was her late father’s only brother.
She hadn’t wanted to cut him off completely.
But he had actually tried to kill Madeline. That was unforgivable!
“How ridiculous. My only uncle tried to murder his niece…” Yvette laughed bitterly at herself. “I knew he wanted the CEO position at Jensen Group. But he’s incompetent and immoral. If the company fell into his hands, it would collapse fast, so I refused. And for that, he actually poisoned Madeline!”
Her eyes grew resolute. “Madeline is the most important person to me. I won’t let anyone hurt her! I’ve already handed the evidence to the police. They’ll arrest him soon. And … I want to go home and watch justice be done myself!”
Even though she had just had surgery and wasn’t supposed to leave, she insisted.
