She saw a quiet, aching kind of sorrow, the kind that belonged to someone who truly wasn’t loved. Her heart clenched again, for the third time.

She got to her feet, patting nonexistent dust from her clothes-fidgeting far more than usual. Which only proved how chaotic her thoughts were.

She sighed and said, “Well… You didn’t take up a spot, not really. Honestly, it’s fine. At first, I didn’t have feelings for Evan either. But later on we did… and they got pretty deep.”
