Hudson suddenly pressed down and kissed Annelise on the lips. He did it so forcefully that Annelise couldn’t even dodge.

“W-Wait… Let go… Ah!”

Hudson bit Annelise on the neck. Was he rabid or something?

Hudson’s eyes were unfocused, and his seductive fox-like eyes stared straight ahead. Though he was looking at Annelise, it felt as if he were trapped in a dream.

“Let me be yours, Ms. Crawford… Be mine, too…”

As he spoke, he suddenly bent over, one hand clutching his abdomen. “Ms. Crawford, my stomach hurts. I feel terrible. Please save me… Ugh, I’m going to die…”

Annelise hurried to lift Hudson’s shirt, wanting to see what was wrong with his stomach.

But Hudson suddenly shoved her away. The force was so strong that Annelise fell to the ground, scraping her elbow and palms.

At the same time, Hudson rushed out while shouting, “It’s that wolf shifter’s scent. He’s here too!”

She smacked her forehead, “Is that Snowball? I could hear his stone earrings tinkling. Gosh, Hudson isn’t in the right mind now. What if he hurts Snowball?”

She scrambled to her feet and chased outside.

“Come back, little fox!”

But Hudson didn’t listen. He dashed to the slope by the forest, where a blonde boy was climbing up from below.

The boy was dressed more impeccably than before, and his platinum long hair grew past his shoulders.

He wore several extra stone chains, making him look every bit like a tribe’s young heir.

Hudson revealed his beast form.

Two long, massive tails appeared behind him, swaying fiercely. He leaned forward, and all ten fingers turned into sharp claws.

He was going down to hunt that wolf.

Under the laws of nature, a fox could never hunt a wolf. But Hudson was already an adult, while Snowball was still a youngster.

Hudson decided it was worth the gamble.

Seeing that she couldn’t stop him, Annelise could only shout, “Snowball, get out of the way!”

Hudson leaped downward with a sharp whoosh.

In truth, Snowball had sensed Hudson long ago. The fox’s scent was extremely overpowering,

he could still detect a faint trace of Annelise’s beneath it.

That made him move closer, wanting to get another whiff.

As Hudson pounced, Snowball swiftly dodged to the side, bending one leg and crouching sideways on the grass.

If Annelise hadn’t been worried sick about them, she would’ve praised Snowball for looking so cool.

He still had the beauty of a Samoyed, but his usual goofy air was gone.

“Snowball, are you okay? Have your previous injuries healed?” Snowball took off one of the stone chains around his neck and threw it far away.

Hudson, following the scent, immediately gave chase.

At this point, both of them realized Hudson wasn’t conscious, and something was seriously

wrong.

Annelise was about to run after Hudson, but Snowball grabbed her and said, “Don’t worry. Right now, he thinks I’m that chain. Once the wind blows and my scent fades from it, he’ll realize the strongest scent is still here. He’ll come back.”
