Chapter 35
Macy stepped up to Louisa. “Louisa, have you seen Licia’s necklace?”
Louisa, buried in her book, shook her head without looking up.
Macy narrowed her eyes. “That’s impossible. It’s just you two in the room. You must be the one who took it.”
All eyes immediately turned to Louisa.
Felicia strode forward, towering over Louisa with a look of disdain. “Louisa, you’ve got some nerve, messing with my stuff!”
Hannah came running up the stairwell. She was out of breath and clutching something in her hands. She was about to hand it to Felicia when the commotion drew her attention.
A group of people had surrounded Louisa.
In a situation like this, people were quick to assume Louisa was guilty, regardless of whether
she was or not.
Hannah thought back to the last time Louisa had gotten her beaten up by a group of thugs, and resentment flared in her chest. She hid the necklace in her hands.
Felicia’s gaze was full of contempt as she stared at Louisa.
She had been waiting for an opportunity like this ever since Louisa showed up. With Louisa’s infamous reputation and what happened that afternoon when the security at the Hayes residence had roughed her and her friends up, Felicia’s grudge against Louisa was set in stone.
She had to teach Louisa a lesson. And as someone under Asher’s protection, she knew Louisa wouldn’t dare lay a hand on her. If she put Louisa in her place here, Felicia’s status would skyrocket overnight.
“I said I didn’t do it,” Louisa said, irritation creeping into her voice.
“My necklace was in the locker! Who else could’ve taken it but you?” Felicia, frustrated by her calm indifference, smacked the book out of Louisa’s hands.
But Louisa was faster and caught the book immediately. Caught off balance, Felicia stumbled backward and smashed face-first into Louisa’s foot basin.
Everyone around gasped.
Louisa’s eyes flickered with annoyance as she casually lifted her foot and wiped it clean.
Felicia scrambled up, grabbing whatever was nearby to wipe her face, only to realize a second

The crowd tensed, their eyes glued to the unfolding scene.

Hannah’s heart raced with a mix of anxiety and anticipation. She secretly hoped Felicia would ruin Louisa’s pretty face.
But what happened next let everyone down.
Louisa caught Felicia’s wrist and shoved her backward.
Felicia hit the ground with a thud, yelping in pain. Her eyes were bloodshot with fury. “Louisa!

Louisa’s face was icy, her expression distant as she looked down at Felicia. “Don’t blame other people just because you lost control.”
