Raving blocked Grace Williams and her daughter’s little plan, Amelia went back to her room. She casually browsed online chatter about Mist. The hottest topic right now? Still the female lead. The director hadn’t found the right actress yet, which was why filming kept getting delayed.

He had asked Amelia’s opinion before, but honestly, she had no clue who’d be a good fit either.

Soon after, the director posted a new tweet announcing an open casting call for the female lead

Downstairs, Sabrina was scrolling through her phone when she saw the post. She literally jumped up, eyes practically sparkling. “Mom, I’m signing up for this. If I get picked, I’ll be a superstar!”

Grace was all in. She couldn’t agree more with her daughter’s plan.

“Absolutely, I’ve got your back. Tomorrow we go shopping for a killer outfit!”

Sabrina nodded like crazy. “Yep!”

“Oh, by the way, who’s on the judging panel?” Grace asked, already plotting.

“I heard the book’s author might be a judge,” Sabrina said, “but it’s not confirmed yet. If I can somehow find the author and befriend them, maybe they’ll vouch for me. That’d be the jackpot.”

“Then don’t wait around. Let’s track them down tomorrow,” Grace suggested.

Sabrina looked a bit deflated. “The author isn’t even on social media. Total ghost. Can’t find them at all.” But she didn’t dwell on it, already shifting focus to how she’d dress up for the audition.

Meanwhile upstairs, Amelia had just declined being a judge but agreed to write the screenplay. She needed to keep control–if someone else messed with her script, all her hard work could go  down the drain.

When Damien Taylor heard about the casting, he teased her, “Honestly, no one fits that role better  than you.”

“No way,” Amelia brushed it off. “Acting is exhausting.”
