Reborn Second Chance With The Scheming Tycoon novel Chapter 283

Chapter 232

When Amelia Johnson came downstairs, she just so happened to catch Sabrina Johnson sniffling to Grace Williams. “Ugh, it’s her again, always her! She totally did it on purpose, just to embarrass me! Can you believe they said I got picked because I look like, what, a tenth of Amelia?”

“Alright, alright, stop crying,” Grace tried to calm her. “Let’s talk to her first.”

Amelia was totally lost. She walked over, frowning. “What’s going on?”

“You seriously don’t know the director of ‘The Mist‘ wants you for the lead role? It’s all over the internet!” Sabrina stared at her, eyes red with envy. She never thought Amelia was better than her but somehow, she lost again.

Once she understood what all the fuss was about, Amelia sighed. “I honestly didn’t know about any of this.”

“Then why don’t you talk to the director and give your sister the chance instead?” Richard Johnson

jumped in, thinking it’d be a great way for Sabrina to get famous–which would naturally benefit the

Johnson family too.

Sabrina looked at Amelia with a pitiful expression, clearly hoping she’d give in.

“Amelia, I really love acting!”

“So you like the novel too?” Amelia asked, eyes steady.

Sabrina rolled her eyes and muttered, “I haven’t even read it… But come on, that’s not the point. need this role!”

When Amelia heard that Sabrina hadn’t even read the story, her face clearly changed.

She didn’t expect Sabrina to be a super fan, but if she hadn’t even read it, how could she

understand the lead character, let alone play her well?

After struggling with her thoughts, Amelia finally said, “Well, Damien wants me to take the role. What do you think about that, Dad?”

Every time Damien Taylor got brought into the conversation, Richard had nothing to say. This time  was no different. “If Damien wants you in, you’d better take it. What matters most is keeping him happy!”

“With Damien backing you, you’re bound to be a star!”

Sabrina looked like she still wanted to argue, but Grace quickly tugged her sleeve, signaling to drop it before things got worse.

But how could Sabrina possibly swallow this? She gritted her teeth. Damn you, Amelia, I knew you must’ve pulled some strings.

Pige, I’ll make sure the whole world sees the real you!

Seeing how furious her daughter was, Grace could only sigh. Later, she secretly reached out to the director, trying to buy the role with money.

The director–furious after hearing that–went straight to post on Twitter without naming names.

Still, anyone who knew Sabrina could read between the lines. Some even asked about it in chat groups on purpose, making her so embarrassed she just quit the group altogether

Elsewhere, once Damien heard that Amelia was taking the lead in the drama based on his favorite book, he was beyond thrilled–and immediately decided to invest in the show.

He figured she was surprising him on purpose.

That same day, Liam Taylor invited Amelia out for dinner to celebrate.

“This book is a hit, and if you star in it, there’s no doubt it’ll blow up. You’d better sign an autograph for me first!”

Amelia gave a modest smile. “Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Gotta nail the audition tomorrow first.”

“No way, Amelia–this role is made for you! And acting? Totally learnable. You’re a genius, you’ll pick it up fast!” Liam beamed with confidence.

Damien gave a small cough, and Liam immediately shut up.

“Ignore him,” Damien said gently. “Just relax. No matter how it turns out, you’re already the lead in my heart.“Amelia Johnson nodded slightly, honestly not sure how to describe what she was  feeling.

After all, this was the very first time one of her novels was being made into a drama, and she was  actually cast as the female lead. Of course, that made it all feel extra surreal.

The next day, she went alone for the audition–she’d made it really clear she had to go by herself.

When the director saw Amelia in person, his eyes basically lit up. “Yes! You’re exactly the female lead I was picturing all this time. Seriously, it’s like the writer based the character entirely on you.”

That comment made Amelia a little shy–mostly because, well, she kinda *did* base it on herself.

“Miss Johnson, here’s your audition script. Take your time.” That was the assistant director talking.

She nodded again. She had written this, after all. How could she not remember? And/besides, line memorization was never a problem for her.
