Chapter 47 Is She One Too
ora Julian said it low and hard.
Okay. He’s actually annoyed.
“Fine, fine. I’ll stop. I’m posting right now. I’ll make it ufficial
Still laughing, she lifted her phone, pointed it at him, took the shot, typed out a caption, and posted it.
“Done. It’s up. Go look.”
Julian opened it. She’d been laughing so hard her hands had shaken, and the picture of him came out blurred.
Her caption read, “Your own husband really is better.”
Over at the Sinclair house, Mandy was awake too.
She saw the post and let out a snort. “Idiot. She has no idea what’s coming. Your own husband is better. There’s a lot of misery waiting on you.”
Yvette put her phone down and looked at her daughter. “Why are you watching her every move? Lock Adrian down first.”
All Mandy had to do was remember the first time around, when she’d gone through every kind of misery there was while Nora lived in comfort and got called the happiest woman alive. The memory lit something in her chest she couldn’t put out.
“I just want her to go through every bit of what I went through.”
In that life she’d married Julian in Nora’s place, and it had ended with her widowed, thrown out of the Weston house, and selling herself on the street. Every bit of it traced back to Nora.

Yvette looked at her daughter’s swollen face, and it hurt her. “I don’t know what she’ll suffer later. I know what you’re suffering now.”
“It’s been three days. How many times has she gotten the better of you already?” She studied Mandy. “Does she seem like a different person to you?”
“Does she?” Mandy waved it off, then smiled. “If she’s changed at all, she’s gotten stupider.”
Yvette poked her cheek. “Don’t let knowing the future go to your head.
“Think about it. Would the old Nora ever have raised a hand to anybody? She’d swallow anything for her grandmother’s sake.
“Now she’s hitting you, she’s hitting me, and she doesn’t give your father an inch.”
That stopped Mandy, and she turned it over. “You’re right. She isn’t afraid of Dad cutting off her grandmother’s treatment anymore.”

Yvette kept going. “From what I’ve seen of her, nobody takes anything away from that woman. Certainly not
han like Adrian, who owes her his life.
“So why hand him to you? And then help you keep him?”
Mandy answered like it was obvious. “Because I used her grandmother against her.”
Yvette gave her a sour look. “The Nora we’re dealing with now doesn’t get pushed around by anyone. What strikes me is that she seems to hate Adrian. Doesn’t that bother you? If she hates him, why did she save his life?”
Mandy thought hard and came up with nothing that made sense.
“That’s easy. She can’t see past the end of her nose. She looked at Julian, saw the richest man in the country, and grabbed him. She doesn’t know what’s coming the way I do.
“She’s afraid I’ll take him off her, so she puts on a show of hating Adrian.”
Yvette watched her lay it out like the matter was settled and got shorter with her. “You can see what’s coming. Has it occurred to you that she might be able to as well?”
“That’s not possible.” Mandy’s eyes went wide, and she stared at her mother.
She wasn’t a psychic. She knew what she knew because she’d died and come back. But she’d died alongside Nora, and if one of them had come back, why not both?
Yvette went quiet for a second. “There’s no such thing as impossible. You called the earthquake. You also said Julian would be rushed to a hospital and there’d be a wedding with no groom, and neither one happened.”
Mandy had been certain a minute ago, and now she wasn’t.
She bit her lip. “Maybe Nora is…” Reborn. The same as me.
The thought scared her badly enough that she shook her head. “No. That’s not possible. I’m the one the universe picked!
“Everything that’s changed is because I saved Adrian’s life and she married Julian. It’s a butterfly effect, that’s all.”
Yvette had no idea why she’d gotten so worked up, and it worried her. “Mandy…”
Mandy grabbed her hand. “Mom, Nora can’t see the future.
“If she could, why would she leave Wolf Bait and Sabrina Cole behind and let me walk out with Colton Hale and Genevieve Ward?
“If she knew, she’d have fought me tooth and nail. She’d never have let me take them!”
Yvette asked, “Aren’t those two the nobodies on three-year deals? Your father was going to release them anyway.”
Mandy shook her head. “They’re not nobodies. Colton Hale becomes the biggest streamer in the world. One
