Chapter 140
Nathan didn’t see Amelia as his mom, so he naturally wouldn’t call her.
Amelia entered the building with Jasper.
When they arrived at the registration area, Amelia signed her name and looked up to see a crowd of people swarming into the venue.
She immediately spotted Christopher standing in the middle of the crowd. He stood tall and proud, with Nicole right next to him. They were surrounded by many people.
Alechemax had specifically arranged for someone to welcome Christopher.
Christopher’s gaze swept past Amelia, but he quickly looked away.
Amelia retracted her gaze and saw a bracelet of many different kinds of gems on Nicole’s wrist.
She paused for a moment, recognizing it to be the bracelet that she had previously made with Nathan. She had painstakingly polished many of the gems on the bracelet.
Amelia shifted her gaze away.
The handicraft she meticulously made with Nathan ended up as a gift to Nicole.
How ironic!
Neither her husband nor her son loved her genuinely. Both of them treated her as a nanny at their beck and call, never bothering to care for her feelings or emotions.
Someone in the crowd was eagle-eyed enough to notice. “Ms. Randall, what a unique bracelet you’re wearing!”
The bracelet was crafted by a child, after all. While every gem looked precious and expensive, the overall aesthetics of the bracelet looked questionable.
Nicole said with a smile, “It’s a Mother’s Day gift from my son. He gave it to me this morning.”
“What? You already have a son at such a young age? Are you married?”
Everyone was shocked to hear Nicole’s answer. They had never heard about her being married or anything of that
sort.
“This is something personal I won’t disclose,” Nicole said with a polite smile.
Just then, Nathan called Nicole to wish her a happy Mother’s Day. Nicole received his blessings with a warm smile on her face.
She turned to look at Christopher.
“Chris, say something to your son?”
Her words made everyone turn their attention to Christopher. Everyone had long heard about Christopher being married and a father to a son and a daughter.
Yet, no one knew who Mrs. Zephyr was. 1
Now…
The answer to that seemed obvious.
Nathan was upset with his dad this morning and didn’t want to talk to him.

He said with a scoff, “I don’t want to talk to Dad.”
With that, he hung up.
Amelia really didn’t want to hear a single word from them, but they were too close and too attention-grabbing. She found it all so laughable.
She and Christopher weren’t divorced yet, but Nicole was already so eagerly trying to announce that they were a couple.
Hearing the beeping sound over the phone, Nicole chuckled helplessly. “He’s throwing a tantrum again.” Christopher looked unperturbed, his face unchanging. He silently headed straight to the registration area.
Jasper’s brows furrowed as he looked at Amelia.
But Amelia just said, “Let’s head to our seats.”
She wasn’t too bothered by this interlude.
Conversely, everyone else at the scene started making conjectures about the truth.
Christopher had been bringing Nicole to many public events ever since her return, helping her to put her best foot forward and build connections. In turn, his efforts also helped Tania’s company secure many projects.
Everyone knew about their relationship.
Yet, since they didn’t want to make it public, everyone chose to keep silent about it.
“They’re being so blatant about it, and you’re just going to tolerate them? Why don’t you tell everyone that you’re the true Mrs. Zephyr?” Jasper asked darkly.
That would be gratifying indeed.
Everyone thought that Nicole was Mrs. Zephyr, but how would they respond if they were to find out that she was in fact just a shameless homewrecker?
