Regrets Come Too Late (Sierra and Johnny) novel Chapter 683

Sierra was not especially accurate at judging people. Pamela had made her pay for it back in university, but her mother and John were good at this. They had enough life experience, and since neither of them had said anything, Sierra did not need to worry too much.

As for Tommy…

Children had an instinctive sense for good and bad people.

He liked playing with Tony and Marcus, which meant there was no problem.

"You're so trusting," Tony said with a sincere sigh, though her trust pleased him somewhat. "Next time when you run into people like us, remember to check their identities and backgrounds carefully first. Only trust them after you confirm there isn't a problem."

Sierra was calm. "I checked."

Tony used her own words against her. "Is it really okay to be this direct?"

"Didn't you already know?" Sierra was testing them. In her view, since they were so calm, they must have known she had investigated them.

Both Tony and Marcus went quiet.

After spending so much time around schemers, they were not used to suddenly serving someone so honest.

Tony opened his mouth wanting to say something, but pushed down the words just before they came out. Based on their conversation just now and the ones they had before, he could already guess what Sierra would say after he asked.

"Ms. Bell," he called Sierra.

Sierra looked up.

Tony drove carefully and said sincerely, "We won't betray your trust. No matter what our purpose is, we'll put you first."

"Yes." Sierra's eyes and expression did not change. "I know."

Tony was silent for a bit before sighing.

There was a hint of confusion in Sierra's eyes. "What is it?"

"You're a little unromantic," Tony said. "Shouldn't you be happy and crying at a time like this?"

"I pay your salaries. Isn't it normal for you to put me first during working hours?" Sierra said, the logic she used was clear.
