"Be careful," Robin reminded Lance as he secretly followed to protect Sierra. "If you mess this up again, Mr. Henderson won't be as lenient this time."
"Don't worry. I know." Lance knew what he was doing.
After the call ended, Lance continued to tail them in the car for another five minutes or so. If it was not because the road outside the King estate was so empty, he would not have been discovered.
Meanwhile, Sierra had already assumed that Lance had been sent by Charlie or Peter since she could not see who was driving. She still remembered what had happened last time.
Seeing that he neither overtook them nor changed lanes, Tony warned Sierra just in case. "Keep your seat belt fastened and don't use your phone until the car behind us is gone. Just in case something happens."
"Alright," Sierra said.
What had happened with Lucas and Brenda had left her with a fear of car accidents. If the other party suddenly accelerated and rammed them when they were near cliffs or rivers, Tony would probably have to make an emergency maneuver.
And right at this moment…
The loud roar of an engine suddenly came from the opposite direction. A black SUV crossed the center line at around sixty miles an hour and charged straight toward them.
Marcus glanced to the right. They were next to a roaring river. If the other car hit them, their car would definitely break through the guardrail and steer straight into it.
Marcus was just about to speak when Tony slammed on the gas and turned the steering wheel slightly, shifting them out of their original path after he calculated the car's speed and direction in his mind.
There was a loud screech.
When the other driver saw they could not hit them, they slammed on the brakes.
But the car was moving too fast, and the reaction came too late. It crashed into the guardrail beside the road.
Lance, who had been following Sierra's car, was startled. "Damn it!"
He looked at the car that had nearly crashed into him, his whole body tense. If he had not reacted quickly enough, he would have been hit. What frightened him even more was that if Sierra's car had not dodged in time, it would have been knocked off the road.
If the speed or the timing of the turn had been off by even a little, they would have been hit by the other SUV.
