“Clara was too dominating, argued back. “She challenged me constantly, made me look foolish in front of the pack.”

“And now she stands beside one of the most feared alphas in the region, commanding respect and attention. While you’re stuck with a broken woman who can’t even function.”

The truth of his words cut deep. Clara had been strong, yes. Too strong for my comfort at the time. But that strength was exactly what had attracted Darius to her.

“She made me look weak,” I insisted, but the words felt hollow
