CHAPTER 140
Liana’s POV
I spent the morning handling pack business, but my mind kept going back to what I’d seen. Clara had a routine, and routines could be used against her.
For the next few days, I made my own pattern. Early morning trips disguised as runs to help with my suppos

“This is about pack safety” I continued. “There are certain threats that Alpha Jaden and I are watching, but we need to handle them quietly so we don’t scare anyone?
Tommy nodded seriously, clearly honored to be trusted with important pack business
“I need you to serve as a distraction during an important operation,” I said carefully.
His forehead wrinkled with confusion. “Adistraction?”
“We have information that suggests an attack is being planned against our territory, I lied smoothly. “Tomorrow morning, you’ll need to create a diversion at the western border while our people handle the real threat from the east.”
“What kind of diversion?”
“You’ll cross into Shadowfang territory and act like a rogue scout. Nothing too aggressive, just enough to draw their border patrols away from their usual routes. Make them think you’re testing their defenses.” Tommy’s face went pale. “Luna, that sounds incredibly dangerous. If they catch me in their territory…” “They’ll think you’re a rogue acting alone,” I said dismissively. “You’ll run away the moment you see their patrols coming. It’s a simple trick.”
“But if something goes wrong…”
I stepped closer to him, letting my authority as Luna press down on him.
“Tommy, let me be very clear about something,” I said, my voice dropping to a dangerous whisper. “Your
mate, Brinda, works in the nursery. Your newborn pup/spends his days there while you’re on duty.”
All the color drained from his face. “Luna?”
“If you do this for me, if you help protect our pack from this threat, I’ll make sure your mate and your pup are taken care of for life. Money, the best medical care, everything they could ever need.”
Tommy’s eyes widened with hope, but I wasn’t finished.
“However,” I continued, “if you refuse, if you betray this mission, if you don’t follow orders…” I let my voice trail off meaningfully.
“What are you saying?”
“I’m saying that accidents happen so easily with newborns,” I said, watching his face fall apart. “A moment of not paying attention, a small mistake with feeding or keeping them warm. And mates who ask too many questions about pack safety sometimes find themselves in dangerous situations.”
“You wouldn’t,” he breathed.
“I would do whatever it takes to protect this pack,” I said firmly. “Even if it means removing threats to our safety. Both from outside and inside.”
Tommy stared at me in shock, finally seeing the truth of what I’d become.

“You’re talking about my family,” he whispered
I’m talking about loyalty,” I snapped. “About doing what needs to be done for everyone’s safety”
I walked around him slowly, enjoying the terror in his eyes.
“You have a choice, Tommy. You can be a hero who helped save our pack from attack, making sure your family’s future is secure. Or you can be a coward who refused orders, and face what happens when you betray your Luna.”
