CHAPTER 155

Clara’s POV

I thought about what Darius had taught me during our training sessions. How to move silently, how to strike fast and hard, how to cause maximum damage with minimal risk.

Time to put those lessons to use.

I made my way toward the pack’s storage areas first. Their food supplies were kept in a large warehouse

near the edge of the territory.

The building was unguarded. Everyone was at the party.

I slipped inside and quickly assessed what was there. Bags of grain, preserved meats, canned goods,

emergency rations. Enough food to feed the pack for months.

Not anymore.

I found the electrical panel and ripped out every wire I could reach. Sparks flew as the building’s lighting

system died.

Then I found their fuel storage. Containers of gasoline and oil meant for their vehicles and generators.

I poured it everywhere. Over the food, across the floor, up the walls.

When I was done, I pulled out the lighter I’d taken from Jake’s pocket when he’d brought my lunch. He’d

been so focused on my sad story that he hadn’t noticed my fingers slip into his shirt.

I lit a piece of fabric and tossed it into the pool of fuel.

The warehouse went up like a torch.

I was already running toward my next target as the flames began to spread.

The pack’s farming area was next. Rows of crops that helped feed the pack during harvest season. It had

taken them years to build up this agricultural system.

It would take me minutes to destroy it.

I moved through the fields like a force of nature, setting fire to everything I could reach. The dry plants

caught quickly, and soon entire sections were blazing.

Next were their vehicle storage and maintenance areas. I disabled every car and truck I could find,

slashing tires and ripping out engine parts.

By now, the smoke from the warehouse fire was visible from the packhouse. I could hear shouts of alarm mixing with the party music.

Good. Let them see what their betrayal had cost them.

But I wasn’t done yet.

The packhouse itself was my final target. The symbol of Jaden’s authority, the heart of everything he’d

built.

I approached from the back, where the kitchen and service areas were located. Most of the pack was still out front, probably trying to figure out what was happening.

I slipped inside through a service door and made my way to the main electrical systems. This building was

newer than the warehouse, with better wiring, but the principle was the same.

I ripped out every wire I could reach, plunging entire sections of the building into darkness.

Then I found their main gas line.

This would be the big one.

I carefully damaged the line just enough to create a leak, then traced it back toward the main party area.

When I was ready, I lit another piece of fabric and dropped it near the gas leak.

I had maybe thirty seconds before the flame reached the main line.

I ran.

The explosion shook the ground beneath my feet as I burst through the front doors of the packhouse.

Pack members were running everywhere, screaming, trying to organize some kind of response to the

chaos.

And there, in the middle of it all, was Jaden.

He was shouting orders, his face red with anger and panic. Liana was beside him, her perfect dress dirty

and torn from the smoke and confusion.

I stepped into the light where they could see me.

Jaden,I called out, my voice carrying across the chaos.

He spun around, his eyes widening when he saw me.

You,he breathed.

Me,I confirmed. Did you really think a few chains could hold me?

His face went from shock to rage in seconds. How did you

r

You always did underestimate me,I said, walking closer. You thought I was weak. Thought I’d break under pressure.

Clara,” Jaden said, his voice dangerous. You’re making a mistake.

The only mistake I made was ever caring about you,I replied. You kidnapped me. Chained me up like an animal. Tried to take advantage of me. And had the guts to be gross with your mate in front of me.

Liana’s face flushed with anger, but she didn’t speak.

And for what?I continued. Because you couldn’t handle the fact that I moved on? Because you couldn’t

stand that I found someone better?

I was trying to save you Jaden said desperately. From him. From that mark he put on you.

Save me?I laughed, but there was no humor in it. You tried to assault me. You tried to force your mark

on me against my will.

That’s not what happened,” Jaden protested.

It’s exactly what happened,I said. And now you get to live with the consequences.

I gestured to the burning buildings around us. This is what betrayal costs, Jaden. This is what happens when you cross me. When you think you can play a fast one on Clara Ashburn.

His eyes went wide as he finally understood the scope of what I’d done.

Guards,he shouted. Take her down. Now.

Several warriors rushed toward me, but I was ready.
