Rejected Heiress, Reigning Queen novel Chapter 207

Emma sat in her chair, narrowing her eyes into a smile.

Charles felt a little intimidated by her expression. Remembering his actual purpose for coming, he softened his tone.

"Emma, let's put the other stuff aside for now. I came to talk to you about something else."

Emma didn't reply, just waited for him to continue.

Charles pulled out a document. "When are you going to transfer your registration back to our family trust? Gillian has already agreed to let you come home."

"That's not my home."

Emma said with perfect composure. "I have my own home now."

Charles was left speechless, momentarily unsure of what to say.

It was Sebastian who stood up.

"Uncle Charles, my grandfather is getting old. He's lived for eighty years, and this is the first time a junior has ever called him senile in public."

Sebastian spoke coolly, calling out Gillian's blatant disrespect from their previous dinner. Charles's face grew ugly.

"My grandfather trusts that Emma won't rebrand the elixir under a foreign name. The reason this formula was kept off the market for so long was because he specifically saved it for her. So, you don't need to bother my cousin about the elixir ever again."

Sebastian fiercely defended her, shooting Gillian a final glare.

"Under Logan's management, Lockwood Group will only continue to thrive. But while you're busy leveling up your company, don't forget to level up your family's manners."

Sebastian's words were harsh, hitting Gillian right where it hurt.

"Sebastian, you're insulting me for the sake of an outsider?"

Charles glared at him angrily. "Gillian is your own cousin. How can you talk to her like that? You're crossing a line."

Sebastian raised an eyebrow, making no effort to hide his feelings.

"Blood might be the only way you measure family, but it isn't mine. The cousin I grew up with is Emma, no one else. Uncle Charles, my stance on this isn't going to change. Of course, this is just my personal view, not necessarily the Jennings family's."

Sebastian hadn't always treated Gillian this way. He used to treat her like a real sister, too.

"Boss, there's been an incident at the lab. The samples were stolen!"

Emma's eyes darkened slightly, while Sebastian's face drained of color.

"The samples you needed for the national bid?"

The assistant nodded frantically. "Those exact ones. What are we going to do? That was the result of years of hard work by the researchers!"

Hearing this, Gillian lit up with excitement. Losing all interest in harassing Emma any further, she grabbed Charles and practically dragged him out the door.

Watching them leave, Emma let out a short, almost imperceptible scoff.

"Boss, what should we do now?"

Her assistant asked anxiously, and Levi's assistant was just as panicked. "If we lose this national bid, CFT's authority here will take a huge hit. Headquarters will definitely hold VP Levi accountable."

Emma tilted her head, giving him a deeply meaningful look.

"I didn't expect you to care so much about Levi. You're doing a fantastic job as his assistant."
