Hearing her words, Sienna let out a defiant, cold laugh.
"If you've got guts, just wait right here!"
She turned and stormed off. Emma rolled her eyes nonchalantly and called Carter to head back to the booth.
"Was that Sienna Ryder?" Carter glanced back with concern. "Is she causing trouble for you?"
Emma brushed it off. "She's just an immature kid. What kind of trouble could she possibly cause me?"
"She's barely older than you. You're still a kid yourself."
Carter's tone was incredibly doting and protective. Emma froze for a split second before lowering her head with a soft chuckle.
The two returned to the private booth. However, not long after, the door was violently kicked open.
"Let's see who dares to bully my little sister!"
Twenty to thirty guys instantly flooded into the room. Thankfully, the booth was massive, so it didn't feel overly cramped.
"Cut the music!"
The lighting in the booth was dim. The moment the music stopped, the blinding overhead lights were flipped on.
The man whose tone had been incredibly arrogant just a second ago was completely struck dumb the moment he saw Emma.
"M-M-Ms. Lockwood, you're here too. Haha, what a coincidence."
The man laughed awkwardly, scratching the back of his head.
Sienna was utterly shocked by his sudden 180 in attitude.
"Tim, she's the one bullying me! Why are you being so polite to her?"
Timothy Morton's eyes went wide. Emma smirked. "So Mr. Morton is here to stand up for his 'little sister'?"
Emma deliberately emphasized the word "sister." Looking at Tim, it wasn't hard to figure out the real nature of their relationship.
She had met Tim at a bar overseas. He had tried to hit on her the moment he saw her and nearly tried to drag her to a hotel by force.
But he hadn't succeeded.
Emma had beaten him half to death. Just as he was trying to flee, Travis had shown up and beaten him to a pulp all over again. He had been absolutely brutal.
Tim had been a model citizen around her ever since.
"Nice bar you've got here. Last time I was at one of your spots, I ran into Harvey Kent. This time, you bust into my private booth. Tim, did you forget that my brother came back to the country too?"
Hearing that, Tim's knees practically gave out. Slapping on a sycophantic smile, he shoved Scarlett out of the way and squeezed in next to Emma.
"I'll definitely give you a proper explanation for this today."
Tim glared murderously at Sienna. Emma smiled and offered a friendly reminder. "I know you like to play around, but you shouldn't just mess with anyone. Be careful, or one day you'll piss off the wrong person and end up dead in a ditch without even knowing why."
"Emma! My aunt is still a daughter-in-law of the Shaw— Ah!"
Tim raised his hand, and the man next to Sienna immediately got the hint, slapping her hard across the face and cutting her off.
"Who gave you the right to speak here?" Tim snarled viciously. "Drag her out of here."
She had provoked Emma Lockwood, of all people. The folks back home might not know much about Emma, but that didn't mean he didn't.
He had seen with his own eyes how the heads of several massive international syndicates had practically fought to the death just to take her as their goddaughter.
A daughter-in-law of the Shaw family? Years ago, Old Man Shaw had signed a waiver essentially risking his life to travel abroad just to see Emma.
Her status in the Shaw family was leagues beyond some third-string daughter-in-law.
Tim stood up, his heart still pounding nervously.
Suddenly remembering something, he quickly added:
"Hey, want to talk some real business? You'll definitely be interested."
