Rejected Heiress, Reigning Queen novel Chapter 252

"There are twins who look different. It's rare, but the phenomenon definitely exists," Daniel Brooks explained patiently.

Violet was too thrilled to speak. Clutching the report, her eyes brimmed with tears. "Both are my daughters. Both of them."

Holding her phone, Emma wanted to share the news.

And the very first person who came to her mind was Carter.

"Excuse me, which one of you is Emma Lockwood?" A waiter suddenly knocked on the door, breaking the surreal atmosphere in the room.

Emma looked over. "That's me."

"Your friends got into a dispute with someone outside. It looks like things got physical, and the other party is about to call the cops. Do you want to go check on them?"

Emma pressed her lips together. He must be talking about her bodyguards.

Her heart skipped a beat. Those bodyguards were brought back from abroad; she hoped they hadn't been too heavy-handed and caused a real incident.

"Mom, I'm going downstairs for a bit."

Emma tested the word 'Mom' again, and Violet covered her mouth in sheer joy. "Okay, okay. Be careful. I'm going to tell the family the news."

Emma nodded and headed downstairs. There were indeed two groups of people scuffling in the lobby.

"Chase, separate them."

Emma looked at Chase, who finally managed to pull the tangled mess of people apart.

"Spit on it! So what if we accidentally scratched your car? What's the big deal? Demanding thousands of dollars right off the bat—is your car made of solid gold?" an old man who hadn't participated in the fight yelled furiously.

Emma looked at her bodyguards. "What happened?"

"I'm fine. It's nothing serious."

The police officer immediately understood what was going on. He looked at Emma. "However, we still need you to cooperate with us regarding the brawl."

"I hired these men. I'll go with you," Chase spoke up, then turned to Emma. "I gave the alarm device to the team Mr. Harrington arranged. Contact them if anything comes up."

"Alright."

After sorting out the mess downstairs, Emma finally returned to the private room.

The moment she pushed the door open, she found the floor covered in blood. Violet lay unconscious, pale as a sheet, next to a shattered, bloodstained vase.

"Mom!"
