As Emma screamed, Gillian's voice echoed at the exact same moment.

"What did you do to Mom?!"

Gillian violently shoved Emma aside, her eyes blazing with absolute fury.

She dialed 911 while glaring daggers at Emma.

"If anything happens to Mom, I swear I will kill you."

For once, Emma didn't talk back to Gillian.

This was her biological sister, born from the same womb.

They were not enemies.

"I can perform first aid," Emma said, stepping forward.

But Gillian blocked her path. "Who knows if you're trying to help her or finish her off? Stay the hell away from her!"

Emma pressed her lips together, knowing nothing she said right now would be believed. Her gaze landed on the dropped DNA report nearby.

She walked over, picked it up, and froze once again.

Gillian saw it too. She marched over, snatched the report, and after seeing the clear stamp, shoved the document right into Emma's face.

"Look closely! You aren't Mom's daughter at all!"

Emma's eyes were fixed on that single row of bright red ink.

[No Biological Relation Confirmed.]

"No, this report is fake."

Emma understood in a flash.

"Someone hurt Mom on purpose to hide the truth."

Gillian glared at her, eyes red. "Don't you call her Mom! I did my DNA test at this exact center. It's a state-certified facility; there's no way they'd fake it!"

Emma's expression tightened. She turned to leave.

"Where do you think you're going? I'm telling you, I've already called the cops. You're not going anywhere."

Gillian grabbed her, refusing to let Emma leave.

Emma frowned. "I'm going to check the security footage. If I wait any longer, the footage will be deleted."

"I've already called the police anyway. They'll get to the bottom of this. But what about Mom?"

Gillian wept pitifully. She was genuinely terrified of losing her mother.

"The ambulance is already here. Just stay calm."

The ambulance and the police cruisers arrived almost simultaneously. As someone present at the scene, Emma was taken to the police station.

Carter was in the middle of a business negotiation when he heard the news. He stood up decisively.

"Mr. Watkins, we'll discuss the deal another day. I need to handle a personal matter."

Carter walked out right after speaking, leaving Mr. Watkins looking completely bewildered.

"Jeff, go to the hospital and wait for the results of Ms. Jennings's emergency surgery."

At that exact moment, a heavily disguised figure appeared near the restaurant.

Through his earpiece came a single, chilling command.

"Yes, burn it right now. Make absolutely sure that private room is reduced to ashes."
