Rejected Heiress, Reigning Queen novel Chapter 301

Emma arrived at the cafe, and Hayden happened to be there.

As a result, the table in front of her was quickly covered with an array of exquisite little cakes.

"What kind of coffee are you in the mood for today?"

Hayden had barely finished speaking when Carter answered for her, "A hot milk tea."

"This is way too much cake." Emma picked one that looked appetizing and placed it in front of herself.

Hayden raised a brow. "It's fine. He'll eat the rest anyway."

He pointed at Carter. Just as the three were talking, Sylvia arrived, accompanied by Tyler.

"Go wait for me at another table," Emma told Carter, sending him away. After all, this involved Sylvia's privacy, and there was no need for Carter to stay and keep her company.

She then looked at Hayden. "No need to send a server over."

"Alright, call me if you need anything."

Hayden waved his hand as he walked off. Tyler stared after him for a moment before fixing a hostile glare on Emma.

"You chose this place because you wanted to use Hayden to intimidate me?"

Emma offered a radiant smile. Looking down to take a bite of her cake, she said softly, "As if you're worth the effort."

Tyler's expression instantly soured, but Emma ignored him, turning her attention to Sylvia.

"What's going on? Tell me."

Sylvia pressed her lips together, narrowing her eyes at Emma. "Are you really going to handle this?"

"If I don't, aren't you going to tear Tim's place apart?" Emma pointed her fork at Tyler. "He's right about one thing. With something this huge happening to your group at Tim's club, it would be a mess for him to explain if things escalated."

Sylvia considered this for a moment. "We got a little wild at Nocturne yesterday, but we kept it all inside the private booth. I have no idea how someone managed to film us."

"All of you?"

Emma frowned. If they had been filmed together, it would make sense.

But for all of them to be filmed individually at the same time...

"The blackmailer already sent the videos. Even though we don't know what they want yet, this happened at Nocturne. We deserve an explanation."

Emma crossed her arms, shooting a pointed look at Tyler.

"What about you? Were you filmed too?"

Tyler scoffed. "I'm not as wild as they are."

Emma held her hand out. Sylvia's gaze darkened. "What are you going to do?"

"Delete anything you consider important, except for the message with the video." Seeing that Sylvia still looked hesitant, Emma added, "The only permanent solution is to make the original video disappear completely. You can either trust me, or you can get up and leave right now."

Emma's attitude rubbed Sylvia the wrong way. "Think carefully. You're cleaning up Tim's mess right now. Are you sure you want to take that tone with me?"

"This isn't actually that big of a deal. If we really had to investigate, we could. The worst-case scenario is Nocturne closing for a while. Tim can afford the delay, and so can I. Money is the last thing I'm short on.

But you're the ones refusing to go through the proper channels. Sylvia, you know perfectly well that if this didn't involve Tim, I wouldn't have stepped in to help you at all."

Emma casually took another bite of her cake. Sylvia glared at her through gritted teeth for a long moment before bursting into laughter.

"Fine. You've always been on your high horse, Emma. It's only natural you look down on me."

Sylvia tossed her phone onto the table.

"There's nothing important on there. But I do have a piece of information you'll definitely find interesting."

Sylvia leaned in closer to Emma, glancing out of the corner of her eye at Carter.

"Without you, Phoebe would have never had the chance to be sponsored and taken in by the Harrington family. You protected her every step of the way in school. But did she ever tell you that her father and brother didn't die in an accident?"

"In fact, her brother isn't even dead."
