Emma looked at Summer. Among all the interns, she was the only one without her own design displayed behind her.
"Do you not have a piece?"
Emma's tone was gentle. Summer pressed her lips together, hesitating to speak.
Her team leader quickly interrupted, "Ms. Lockwood, let's look at the others first. Letting the interns participate was just to help them gain experience."
Emma looked back at Summer, waiting quietly.
Perhaps it was her reassuring gentleness that helped, but Summer took a deep breath and summoned her courage.
"Ms. Lockwood, I do have a piece."
Summer's voice wasn't loud, but it was incredibly firm.
The team leader panicked and snapped her head around to glare at her. "Get out of here right now!"
"Ms. Lockwood, I have a piece."
Summer completely ignored her team leader's threatening glare. She stepped confidently in front of Emma and pointed at a red slip dress. "I designed and tailored that one myself."
Jocelyn looked over, her eyes lighting up.
The asymmetrical hemline paired with the cascading ruffles on the bodice was both minimalist and exquisite, radiating a pure yet seductive beauty.
It was highly conceptual and completely unique.
"I have the hand-drawn sketches, the digital files, and plenty of scrap fabric left over from making the dress. I can prove this is my work."
Summer pushed past her fear, knowing this was her only chance.
If she didn't speak up, she would just continue to be exploited by her team leader. She might as well gamble on the hope that these two executives were fair-minded.
"Jocelyn, I really like this one."
Emma pointed at the red dress. She genuinely loved it.
