Gillian caused a massive scene in the lobby, but the employees walking by completely ignored her.
The receptionist calmly picked up the phone and called security.
"Don't touch me! Your employee is a scam artist who stole our money! Doesn't this company have any standards? How dare you hire someone like her?"
The receptionist stared at her wide-eyed, looking at her like she was a lunatic.
If she hadn't misheard, this crazy woman had just accused their CEO of fraud?
What an absolute joke.
Seeing that her tantrum wasn't working, Gillian's eyes darkened, and she made a phone call.
In no time, a swarm of reporters gathered outside the CFT building.
Realizing the situation was escalating, Emma finally set her work aside and headed downstairs.
On her way down, she received a call from Carter.
"I'm on my way," he said.
Emma arched an eyebrow and chuckled. "It's just a minor issue. No need for you to make a trip personally. I can handle it."
"I'm not coming to help you. Staring at contracts all day is just too boring."
Carter made up an excuse for his concern. Moreover, he genuinely enjoyed watching Emma calmly manipulate people from the palm of her hand.
Hanging up, Carter walked out of his office and bumped right into Percy.
"Carter, where are you heading?"
Carter hadn't planned on acknowledging him, but remembering something, he said coolly, "Your girlfriend is causing a scene at CFT."
Percy looked entirely dismissive. "Emma is causing a scene? I always knew she couldn't behave herself."
Carter suddenly stopped in his tracks, turning back to glare at him coldly.
"Your girlfriend is the Lockwood heiress, Gillian."
Percy froze in place. Subconsciously, he still thought of Emma as his girlfriend.
