Emma didn't rush back to Capital City. Instead, acting as the primary shareholder, she slapped Bernard with another lawsuit.
She held the majority equity in the factory, yet hadn't seen a single cent in dividends for years.
Based on that alone, Bernard, who had just stepped out on bail, was immediately thrown right back into a holding cell.
This time, the Lockwood family was in a state of sheer panic.
"Pamela finally agreed to pull strings to get him out! What exactly is Emma trying to achieve?!"
Beatrice glared viciously at Violet, looking like she wanted to swallow her daughter-in-law alive.
Charles was equally enraged. He immediately called Logan, demanding a face-to-face meeting with Emma.
But Emma simply ignored their calls.
"Dad, let me ask Percy to go talk to her. Maybe she's just throwing this massive tantrum to win him back."
Gillian piped up. In her mind, Emma was shamelessly seducing Carter while simultaneously torturing the Lockwood family all because she was desperate for Percy.
Charles thought it over and agreed.
They didn't have any better options left.
When Emma's phone rang and she heard Percy's voice, she instantly hung up.
Percy swallowed his pride and called back, switching numbers every time she blocked one.
Finally annoyed beyond belief, Emma answered.
"Emma, you've really grown an ego, haven't you? You won't even answer my calls?"
Emma scoffed. "Why on earth would I answer your calls? Who do you think you are?"
Percy was so furious he wanted to scream at her, but remembering the brutal slap he'd received at the exchange gala, he forced himself to stay calm.
"Come back to Capital City. We need to talk."
Emma let out a cold laugh. "Go to hell."
She ended the call. Percy wasn't like the Lockwood family.
She had seventeen years of tangled, messy history with the Lockwoods. But Percy had offered her nothing but deception and exploitation from day one.
