Rejected Heiress, Reigning Queen novel Chapter 72

The blonde man couldn't stand up after that brutal kick. He could only clutch his stomach and curl up on the floor.

After a few seconds of shock, his friends rushed over.

"Emma! Aren't you going to apologize?"

Tristan frowned. Why didn't she know when to hold back?

Wasn't she afraid of the backlash? This guy was notorious for holding grudges.

Emma cast a disdainful glance and dropped her smile.

"Weakling."

The man was still sprawled on the floor, unable to get up. He weakly but furiously pointed a finger at her. "Just you wait, you bitch!"

"You're already on the floor, yet you're still running your mouth?"

Emma pushed past the people in front of her and walked over. Just as she was about to raise her foot again, the masked bartender finally couldn't stand it anymore.

"Little lady, this isn't overseas."

Hayden Shaw pulled off his mask and grabbed her arm. If he didn't stop her now, things were going to blow up completely.

This caused another wave of shock as everyone recognized Hayden.

He was working as a bartender in a club?

"You sure have a lot of side gigs, Hayden." Emma calmly pulled her foot back and smiled at him.

Hayden's mouth twitched, and he threw his hands up. "Do you think I wanted to be here? Carter knew you were coming to the club and was worried about you, so he sent me to keep an eye on things. He specifically told me not to show my face so I wouldn't pressure you."

Hearing this, the onlookers discreetly glanced at Tristan.

Judging from Hayden's words, Mr. Harrington valued Emma highly.

Could it be that Emma had hooked up with Carter?

"If you want coffee, you can go to my cafe anytime. If you think it's too noisy, I'll clear the place out and close the doors. Let's not make my grandpa worry, alright?"

Hayden tried his best to coax her. He didn't know what was up with his grandfather, but the old man was terrified Emma would get bullied in the country. He had repeatedly urged Hayden to follow her around whenever he was free.

"Next time you try to bully a woman, remember to weigh your own capabilities. With a body this fragile, stop pretending to be a tough guy. Clean yourself up and go find a boyfriend."

Emma's words were utterly humiliating. The blonde man was completely enraged, but he didn't dare speak out because Hayden was there.

He clenched his fists, forcing himself to swallow his anger. Hayden clicked his tongue.

This girl was not only ruthlessly precise with her fists, but her words were laced with venom.

Aside from having stunning curves, plenty of money, and a mysterious background, he really didn't know what Carter saw in her.

"I'm not in the mood to talk business anymore. I'm leaving."

Emma grabbed her bag and strutted right through the crowd in her stilettos.

Everyone stepped back, intimidated by her aura. The crisp clacking of her heels faded away from the blonde man's ears.

He clenched his fists in fury, only for Hayden to kick his hand away.

"This girl is the apple of Mr. Harrington's eye, and she's also my grandfather's precious darling. Before you think about getting revenge, you better consider who your family is messing with."
