565.Chapter 565
Easton sat at the head of the conference table, cool and unruffled as he stared at the people in front of him. He said, “Sorry, Ms. Scott, I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
Vivian had been a bundle of nerves until she got the message from the hospital right as she reached the Foster Group’s front doors: Irene had died just ten minutes ago.
Now, the fake will she’d prepared could finally come into play. Vivian wasn’t worried Easton would try to verify it; she’d already stolen and destroyed the real one ages ago.
The original beneficiary was Easton, but after she got her hands on it, she’d switched the name to herself.
She’d even bribed the lawyers at the firm. Honestly, it was Mason who made it all happen; without him, she never could’ve pulled it off so smoothly.
That’s why she finally had the guts to bring the fake will out now.
Easton didn’t even spare a glance at the so-called will Vivian had slapped down on the table.
Vivian knew Easton wasn’t the type to back down easily. She sat down across from him and said, “Your grandma actually had a heart after all. She knew how much I’ve done for Foster Group, so she even prepared this will ahead of time.
“Guess all those years as in-laws, she still cared about me in the end.”
Easton let out a cold laugh and shot back, “Ms. Scott, do you even believe your own words?”
Vivian’s face darkened. She snapped, “I don’t care if you buy it or not. It’s got Irene’s own signature on it, and the lawyers have already vouched for it.
“Plus, Sunrise Holdings, the company we set up in Jenston, has already bought twenty percent of Foster Group’s shares.
“With this will, I’ve got fifty percent of the shares. You? You’re stuck with forty. How are you supposed to beat me now?”
Just as Dexter was about to make a move, the conference room doors swung open again.
Irene’s voice rang out, demanding, “Who says my grandson only has forty percent of the shares?”
Easton shot up from his seat and hurried over to Sophia and Irene. He asked, “Grandma, are you alright?”
Irene took Easton’s hand and shook her head. She said, “I’m a tough old lady. I still have to look out for you. There’s no way I’m going down that easily.”
Vivian and Mason just stood there, totally dumbfounded.
They thought, ‘How could this be happening?
‘Wasn’t Sophia supposed to be hurt and barely hanging on in the hospital? Didn’t we just get a message saying Irene was dead?
‘Wait a second, did they set us up?’
Mason sneakily pulled out his phone, trying to text June.
But Dexter grabbed his hand before he could type. Dexter said, “Don’t bother. June’s already been snatched by our people in Almere. Actually, it’s Stella, isn’t it, Mr. Ford? Am I right?”
Mason tried to fight back, but Dexter pinned him down hard. Dexter said, “Don’t waste your breath calling for bodyguards. Every single person you brought is on my boss’s payroll.”
“Your boss?” Mason spat out, struggling under Dexter’s grip.
Dexter let out a cold laugh and spat, “My boss is Easton Foster from Foster Group.”
Vivian got grabbed too, and that’s when they finally realized: everything today was a trap, and even Dexter had been Easton’s man from the start.

But there was one thing Vivian just couldn’t figure out. She said, “Irene, you were in that car yesterday, right? Samantha told me you got totally wrecked when she crashed that truck into you. So how come you’re standing here without a scratch?”
Irene, with Sophia helping her, sat down right in front of Vivian. She replied, “Vivian, don’t forget. I’m the one who taught you everything. You think I wouldn’t see through your little schemes? Warren, come out and explain it to them.”
Warren’s sudden appearance had everyone in the room staring in shock; even Easton was caught off guard.
“Good afternoon, Mrs. Foster, Mr. Foster, Mrs. Sophia Foster,” Warren greeted them respectfully as he walked
Irene nodded and said, “Go ahead.”
Warren said, “Mr. Foster, Irene was onto Vivian from the start. A few months after you and Mrs. Sophia Foster returned from Haverton, she had me contact the lawyers to change the will.
“Originally, you were the beneficiary, but Irene knew Vivian would try something like this, so she secretly hired a new law firm and had all the Foster Group shares transferred to Mrs. Sophia Foster.
“Yesterday, when Irene heard about Mrs. Sophia Foster’s supposed accident, she called me right away. When I got there, I could tell something was off, so we put decoys in the car instead of the real people.
