Replacement Bride Left With His Baby (Sophia and Easton) novel Chapter 567

567.Chapter 567

Easton’s gaze was icy and sharp as he stared at Mason. He said, “Tell me, are you really worried about June, or is it Stella, the one who went under the knife just to look like her? Either way, it doesn’t matter to me.

“As long as I’m here, Stella won’t get a moment’s peace.”

Dexter didn’t give Mason a chance to get another word in. He had the bodyguards slap a tape over his mouth and hauled him off without a second thought.

Once everyone else had left the conference room, it was just the three of them: Easton, Sophia, and Irene.

Easton kept a firm grip on Sophia’s hand as they sat down in front of Irene. He asked, “Grandma, when did you first figure out what Vivian and the others were up to?”

Irene let out a hearty laugh and said, “Was it really that hard to keep track of Vivian? After you sent her packing to Haverton, I had Warren shadowing her every step.

“When she snuck back into Cambul and ran off to Almere to team up with Mason for some shady business, I knew all about it. I even knew what you and Dexter were plotting.

“But I had to stay out of it, didn’t want to spook them and ruin your plan, so I just watched from afar.

“What really caught me off guard was finding out June was actually Stella all along, and that she went after Sophia. The day I got word that Sophia was hurt, I was honestly scared for a second.

“But then I thought, ‘No way it’s that simple! I called Warren, and he’d already sensed something was wrong when he got there. So I decided to play along and turn the tables.

“That will? It was a trap I set for Vivian from the very beginning.”

Easton squeezed Irene’s hand and said, “Yesterday, when I saw you being wheeled into the hospital by the doctors and nurses, I was honestly scared out of my wits.”

Sophia nodded and chimed in, “Seriously, Irene, when you pulled that stunt out of nowhere, you really freaked

us out.”

Irene patted both of their cheeks and said, “Sorry about that, but things were moving fast. I had to rope in my old friends who run the hospital to help me stage the whole thing.

“Once I got to the OR, I filled Dr. Keats in, too. Since it wasn’t all sorted yet, I asked her to keep quiet about it. So don’t blame her, okay?”

Easton’s lips curled into a faint smile. He said, “Sophia always says you’re the real powerhouse in our family, Grandma. Looks like she was spot on.”

After Easton came out of the conference room, Warren was waiting by the door, head hanging low, unable to even look Easton in the eye.

Easton walked over and gave Warren a friendly squeeze on the shoulder. He said, “We grew up together, you know. Never thought you’d actually try to fool me.”

Easton pretended to be mad.

Warren knew he was in the wrong and didn’t dare talk back. He just kept his head down and said, “Sorry, Easton,”

Easton cracked a rare smile as he said, “Don’t apologize. I should be thanking you, honestly. Come on, let’s go. But if you ever try to trick me again, see if I don’t send you off to Windmere boot camp.”

Warren’s face lit up as he looked up. He said, “Never! I swear, I won’t ever lie to you again, Easton.*

Mason had officially been charged by the court, facing more charges than one could count on both hands. According to May’s initial assessment, life in prison was probably the lightest sentence he’d ever get.

After Vivian was taken away by Fletcher’s men, she was sent straight to a refugee island in Evaris to join
