Trent couldn't wrap his head around it. Wasn't making their marriage public the very thing Yvette had always desperately wanted?

So why was she begging Jabez to step in and stop it now?

Was she actually against it, or did she know Jabez wouldn't stop it and was just putting on a performance for the crowd?

In his eyes, it was definitely the latter.

After all, Yvette was so obsessed with Jabez it was practically woven into her DNA.

Helen glanced at Yvette, who was giving a subtle, desperate shake of her head. It was clear her granddaughter genuinely didn't want this.

"Let's just eat for now," Helen interjected smoothly. "We can discuss everything else after the dinner."

Sybil nodded in agreement.

Across the room, Willow stared at a bowl of lychees on her table, a cunning glint flashing through her eyes.

She reached out and began peeling one.

"Willow, you can't eat those! You're allergic!" Rhonda snatched the fruit out of her hand, her face a mask of panic.

"Mom, I know," Willow whispered, leaning in close. "The old woman is planning to announce Yvette's identity tonight. I can't let her do it."

Rhonda's heart skipped a beat.

Sybil actually loved Yvette *that* much?

She instantly understood her daughter's game plan.

"Eat it, then. I'll use your phone to call Jabez the second it happens," Rhonda muttered, peeling the lychee and handing it back.

Willow devoured several before finally stopping.

Within minutes, an angry red rash flared up along her arms. Against her pale skin, the hives looked shocking and horrific.

Willow shot her mother a look, then let her body go limp, collapsing backward as Rhonda frantically caught her.

"Willow! Willow! What's wrong?!" Rhonda screamed at the top of her lungs.

"Is Ms. Huxley alright? Why did she just faint?"

Watching them leave, Rhonda lifted her chin triumphantly, shooting a smug look in Yvette's direction.

No one in this room knew Yvette was Mrs. Shelby, but every single person now knew her daughter was the CEO's beloved girlfriend.

Yvette hadn't even bothered to turn around, completely ruining Rhonda's chance to gloat.

Forcing her expression back into that of a terrified, panicked mother, Rhonda grabbed her purse and scrambled after them.

Sybil's face was dark with fury. She turned to Wynne. "Call Jabez right now. Tell him to come back here and have the driver take Ms. Huxley to the hospital."

Wynne didn't dare disobey. She pulled out her phone and dialed her son's number.

It rang until it went to voicemail.

Yvette had seen this coming from a mile away.

When it came to Willow, even a papercut was treated like a matter of national security. Jabez wouldn't be turning the car around for anything.

"He didn't pick up," Wynne said, offering a helpless smile. "Mom, at the end of the day, Ms. Huxley collapsed at our family's banquet. It's only right that Jabez ensures she gets to the hospital safely."
