Restoring a Life After Seven Years of Wrong Love novel Chapter 149

Yvette ignored everyone else in the room and locked her gaze entirely on Jabez. "Jabez, step outside. I need to talk to you."

"Ms. Yeats, barging into a private room uninvited isn't exactly polite, is it?"

Yvette's eyes shifted to Willow. She was wearing a surgical mask, but even though the swelling had gone down overnight, her cheeks still looked puffy.

"I show basic manners to human beings. You don't qualify."

Her freezing tone echoed through the silent room.

Fury flashed in Willow's eyes. She still hadn't gotten her revenge for the humiliation of yesterday's slaps.

And now, this bitch had the audacity to show up at her family's door.

Did Yvette think the Huxley family were pushovers?!

"Ms. Yeats, I only asked that you apologize to my grandmother. She's old, and her heart is very fragile. Bursting in like that could have terrified her."

Willow put on a masterclass in playing the innocent victim, turning her teary eyes to Jabez. "Jabez, I don't understand why Ms. Yeats has such a vicious vendetta against me."

"She doesn't." Jabez soothingly stroked her hair before looking coldly at Yvette. "If you have something to say, say it here."

"Fine." Yvette didn't bother beating around the bush. "Hand over Dr. Walder's schedule for today."

Jabez stared at her.

Her eyes were defiant, utterly refusing to back down. Even standing entirely alone against a room full of enemies, she didn't flinch.

Willow scrunched her brow, feigning distress.

"Ms. Yeats, you know my grandmother desperately needs Dr. Walder for her surgery. Are you here just to cause trouble?"

"I'm speaking to Jabez," Yvette snapped, her voice coated in ice, never breaking eye contact with him.

"Ms. Yeats, my daughter is speaking to you perfectly politely. Is there a need to be so incredibly venomous?" Rhonda Yarrow spat, faking indignation. "Is this how your mother raised you?"
