Since she hadn't been to the office in a few days, she assumed Yvette had already finalized her resignation and packed up her things.

Clearly, she had no intention of leaving! She was deliberately using these pathetic tactics to keep Jabez's attention! So shameless!

But outwardly, she kept her displeasure perfectly hidden.

Jabez didn't spare Yvette a single glance.

Yvette averted her gaze and went back to work.

Diana trailed behind her like a shadow, taking over various projects, keeping them busy until late afternoon when they finally caught a break.

Her phone buzzed. It was a message from Jabez. She tapped it open, immediately removing his chat from her pinned list. Then she read the text.

[Go buy a women's outfit, size S. She likes dresses.]

It went without saying who "she" was.

A sharp, brief laugh escaped Yvette's throat. He was ordering his legal wife to go shopping for his mistress?

The thought of the pending divorce papers forced her to swallow her burning anger.

Noticing she hadn't replied, Jabez called.

Yvette hung up and ignored it. She texted back a simple '1' to confirm she saw the message.

Taking a few deep breaths, she forced her emotions back into check.

She drove to the high-end boutique, picked out a dress based on his measurements, and headed back to the company.

She pushed open the door to the CEO's office.

Willow and Jabez were standing incredibly close—were they kissing?

Hearing the door open, Willow turned around, glaring at her with blatant annoyance.

Yvette noticed Willow's lipstick was smudged, and she was now wearing her legal husband's dress shirt.

She honestly had Willow to thank for her newfound numbness. After what happened last time, nothing phased her. Even if she walked in on them going at it on the desk, she wouldn't blink an eye.

She set the shopping bag on his desk and shifted her gaze to the stoic man. "Twenty-five thousand. Please transfer it to my card."

Hearing the number, Willow couldn't help but frown.

Willow forced a tight smile. "I see. The company's partnerships always come first."

Her seemingly magnanimous response only made Corbin admire her more. "Mr. Shelby has always prioritized work. You're the only exception he's ever made."

Corbin continued showering her with flattery, leaving Willow in a phenomenal mood. She walked out of the office with a radiant smile.

That evening, Charlotte gave Yvette a call.

"Yvette, have you picked out your outfit for the exhibition yet?"

"I was just going to wear my work clothes."

Yvette's closet consisted almost entirely of professional attire. As for evening gowns, she didn't own a single one.

Jabez was convinced she had manipulated him into marriage, and since she had no proof of her innocence, he despised her. He refused to let her into his social circle and never took her to public events. To the rest of the world, he was a highly eligible bachelor.

"I'm taking you shopping for one. There are going to be big shots and major industry figures there. We need to dress the part."

"Alright."
