Willow's teeth were practically grinding together.
She was just about to avenge the slap from yesterday, but Yvette had shamelessly used her status as Mrs. Shelby to blackmail her.
And it wasn't just this once.
The worst part was, she couldn't actually let her go public with her marriage to Jabez.
Rhonda shot Quentin a look, and he nodded in understanding.
"Yvette, I know I haven't fulfilled my responsibilities as a father. I know you suffered a lot growing up, but that was never my intention. Your mother wouldn't let me see you; my hands were tied."
"Willow is your sister. Even when she told us what happened yesterday, she was still begging for your forgiveness. We're family, and whatever issues we have can be solved behind closed doors. Just take that post down."
Yvette stared at the utterly miserable Quentin and coldly spat out a single word. "Never."
"Either Willow gets exposed as a homewrecker and nailed to the pillar of shame, or you hand over Dr. Walder. Take your pick."
Yvette looked completely unfazed.
The Huxley family's faces darkened, looking as if they were facing a formidable enemy.
Enid waved Willow over and whispered something in her ear.
Willow's expression immediately shifted back to one of smug triumph.
"Willow, I need to step out to take a call," Jabez said, standing up and heading toward the door.
"Okay," Willow replied softly.
Yvette watched the man's cold, retreating back, her resolve to leave him only growing stronger.
With Jabez out of the room, the Huxleys dropped all pretenses, especially Willow.
She strutted over to Yvette, a wicked smirk curling on her lips.
"Yvette Yeats, stop trying to scare me with this 'Mrs. Shelby' nonsense. As long as Jabez doesn't agree, what could you possibly do even if you went public?"
"Do you honestly think the internet would believe you're his wife? Who's to say your marriage license isn't a fake?"
"And even if it is real, so what? All I have to do is shed a few tears in front of Jabez, and anything you post will be scrubbed from the internet."
"I have all the time in the world. I just don't know if your mother has enough time to wait."
