After a full night's sleep, Yvette felt much better. She took the supplements her doctor had prescribed and drove straight to the hospital.
Winifred was lying in the hospital bed, her face entirely devoid of color, her already frail frame looking even thinner.
"Why hasn't my mom woken up yet?" Yvette sat down beside the bed, gently taking Winifred's hand.
"I asked earlier. Dr. Walder said it's completely normal," Joanne replied.
"Yvette, you should go to work. I'll stay here and look after your mom."
"Okay. Thanks for everything, Aunt Joanne." Yvette checked her watch and stood up. "By the way, does Grandma know about my mom's condition?"
"Your grandmother is getting on in years, she can't handle a shock like this. We didn't tell her, so make sure you don't let anything slip," Joanne warned.
"Understood."
Stepping out of the room, Yvette looked back one last time at Winifred resting in the bed.
A lingering unease gnawed at her. She reached out to a security firm and hired two professional bodyguards.
She sent them photos of the Huxley family with strict orders: no Huxley was allowed anywhere near this room.
Quentin and his family were also roaming Kingsbrook General Hospital; she had to be on guard.

Yvette arrived at Solstice Auctions just in time.
Matthew was already in the restoration lab. Seeing Yvette, he immediately walked over to check on her.
After a brief chat, they dived right into their work. Yvette had taken two days off, and her tasks had piled up significantly.
She worked late, not leaving the lab until ten o'clock that night.
The Team One lead position had officially been transferred to Matthew.
She planned to leave the firm completely once she finished the project for Team One.
After work, she headed straight back to the hospital. Two burly bodyguards were stationed firmly outside the door.
"Yvette, did you hire these guys?" Joanne asked.
"Yeah. Just in case the Huxleys try to cause trouble."
Joanne nodded in agreement.
"Aunt Joanne, you should head home. I'll stay here for the night." Yvette helped her pack up her things.
