Willow stepped into the interrogation room while the officer stood guard by the door. The moment Blythe saw her, she looked as though she had found her last shred of hope.

"Willow, please, I'm begging you. Ask Mr. Shelby to get me out of here! If I can just get out, I'll do anything for you. I'll work like a dog!"

Blythe's expression was frantic, and she strained against the cuffs locking her to the heavy chair.

"Blythe, I honestly never imagined you would do something like this. I can't ask Jabez to bail you out. It wouldn't be fair to Ms. Yeats."

"But Willow, you hate her too, don't you?" Blythe stared at her, completely dumbfounded.

"I've never once said I hated Ms. Yeats. Are you misunderstanding something, Blythe?"

Willow frowned slightly, then smoothly changed the subject. "I know what you're most worried about is little Tabitha, who's still attending kindergarten back in your hometown. She was born premature and has always been frail, and your parents are getting too old to work and support her."

She let out a soft sigh. "Considering you once did me a huge favor and saved me, I'll make sure to send them some money so they're well taken care of."

At those words, Blythe froze.

A wave of sheer, suffocating terror washed over her.

Tabitha was the daughter she had given birth to as a naive teenager. To the rest of the world, she had always claimed the girl was her younger sister.

No one knew the truth. How could Willow possibly know such intimate details?

And more importantly, she had absolutely never done anything to 'save' Willow's life.

A terrifying realization violently clicked into place in her mind.

The person who had contacted her using the untraceable overseas number had been Willow all along!

The moment the thought surfaced, a cold sweat broke out across her back. Every hair on her body stood on end.

"Okay... just make sure to wire it to my card," she tested cautiously.

"I've transferred money to you before. I know your account ends in 5873," Willow nodded.

If it was only a suspicion a second ago, Blythe was now one hundred percent certain.

The four digits Willow just rattled off belonged to the exact account the middle-aged man had used to wire her the bribe money.

Her mind spun as she vividly recalled everything that had happened at Solstice Auctions.
