Restoring a Life After Seven Years of Wrong Love novel Chapter 208

"Dr. Walder, I apologize for calling so late. I recently sustained an injury to my hand, and I'm afraid it might take about a month and a half before I can finish the restoration of your painting."

Her hand needed another two weeks to heal, and the intricate work on his painting would take at least another twenty days after that.

"Focus on recovering first. There is absolutely no rush on the painting."

Dr. Walder offered her a few more warm words of encouragement before they ended the call.

—

Inside a private room at The Vervain.

Dr. Walder, dressed impeccably in a crisp white suit, pushed open the door. The first person he noticed was Jabez, seated at the head of the table.

When his gaze shifted to Willow sitting beside him, his warm smile noticeably dimmed.

"Mr. Shelby, Ms. Huxley."

"Dr. Walder, we didn't get a proper chance to be introduced at the banquet last time, so allow me to reintroduce myself."

Willow stood up gracefully and extended her hand. "I'm Willow Huxley. I'm an accomplished art restorer and a double-doctorate graduate from the Royal Academy of Arts."

"How impressive," Dr. Walder replied, giving her hand a brief, polite shake before taking the seat on Jabez's other side.

The waiters began serving the courses.

Dr. Walder glanced at the spread. Every dish had been ordered specifically to cater to his personal tastes.

The three of them exchanged pleasantries for a few minutes.

"I heard you possess a family heirloom painting that requires restoration, Dr. Walder. Have you found the right person for the job yet?"

Willow took a delicate sip from her wine glass, bringing up the topic with calculated nonchalance.

"The painting is currently undergoing restoration."

Hearing this, Willow remembered seeing Yvette walking out of Dr. Walder's hospital office holding something the other day.

Her eyes gleamed as she probed carefully. "Is it Ms. Yeats?"
