Yvette frowned.

Simon was missing?

“Give me a moment, let me try to contact him.”

Hanging up with the teacher, Yvette immediately dialed Simon’s number. It rang out until it automatically disconnected.

No answer.

She then called the Shelby family estate. The staff there confirmed they hadn't seen him either.

A few seconds later, reality set back in.

Why should she care if Simon vanished?

She wasn't his mother.

She quickly typed out a text to her mother-in-law, Wynne Farrell—who despised her—informing her of the situation. Setting the phone aside, she went back to delicately peeling the backing off the antique scroll.

Half an hour later.

Her phone rang again. It was Wynne.

“Yvette Yeats! Where are you right now? Where did Simon go?” The shrill, accusatory shriek tore through the speaker.

“I don't know.”

“Cut the crap! If Simon loses a single hair on his head, I will make you pay! Get out there and find him immediately!”

“And don't forget—the Yeats family is barely holding on as it is. They can't afford any more trouble!” she threatened viciously.

Yvette’s hands balled into tight fists.

Wynne’s hatred for her wasn't a secret, but up until now, they had managed to keep up a thin veneer of civility.

“I’ll do my best to find him,” Yvette finally conceded.

The Yeats family business was already on a steep decline. Her grandmother was getting older, and her mother's health was incredibly fragile.

She couldn't let Wynne retaliate against them.

Yvette started dialing Simon's number repeatedly. He didn't pick up, nor did he reply to her texts.

She opened his social media feed. About an hour ago, he had posted a photo.

It was a picture of a massive dance stage.

Using the background details, Yvette managed to pinpoint the venue and sped all the way across town to the location.

When she arrived, she realized it was a major street dance competition.

She bought a ticket and walked inside. The stadium seating was packed to the brim.

Finding Simon in this massive crowd was going to be next to impossible.

She rubbed her temples, deeply annoyed.

*She’s as manipulative as ever.*

“See for yourself.”

Milton held out his binoculars to her.

Yvette took them and lifted them to her eyes, scanning the sprawling venue.

Through the lenses, the familiar, striking profile of her husband came into sharp focus.

He was wearing casual clothes today, softening the harsh, intimidating aura he usually carried in a tailored suit.

A faint smile touched his lips, and his gaze was locked onto the stage, brimming with overt admiration and pride.

Yvette’s grip on the binoculars tightened slightly.

She shifted the lenses toward the stage.

Willow Huxley’s long hair was tied up in a high ponytail. She was wearing a tight crop top and dark cargo pants, looking effortlessly cool.

She executed a series of complex floor moves, sending the crowd into an absolute frenzy.

“Ahhh! My goddess looks so fierce!”

“That was incredible! I wish she competed more often!”

“She’s the heiress to the Huxley family and Jabez Shelby’s girlfriend. Dancing is just a hobby for her. We’re lucky we get to see it at all.”
