Ms. Clark had been praising her non-stop, and Matthew knew about her relationship with Jabez.
Even if it was just for Jabez's sake, they would surely pass her.
She smiled, waiting for Matthew to congratulate her.
Sure enough, Matthew reached out his hand.
But his next words made her smile freeze.
"I'm sorry, Ms. Huxley. You didn't pass the test."
"Mr. Sutton, I was distracted by the other restorers, which prevented me from showing my true skill level."
"My real abilities are far beyond this. If you just let me join the Azure Atelier, Mr. Shelby will be very grateful to you."
Seeing that Matthew wasn't budging, she had no choice but to bring up Jabez.
She refused to believe the Azure Atelier would willingly give up a massive connection like the Shelby Group.
"Ms. Huxley, you can still join us, but only as a junior restorer—essentially an intern. You'd mostly be assisting a senior mentor."
"Is that something you can accept?" Charlotte asked with a completely serious expression.
"I hold a Ph.D. from a top-tier international university. You can absolutely trust my capabilities. Today was just an accident."
Willow was supremely confident in her skills. Her professor had called her a genius on more than one occasion.
Besides, she had Jabez backing her.
"Then what are your terms, Ms. Huxley?"
Willow offered a sweet smile, knowing they wouldn't actually turn her down.
"A senior restorer position, a highly lucrative salary, and absolute freedom. You can't force me to take on projects I don't want to do."
Matthew and Charlotte exchanged a glance, both seeing the amusement in each other's eyes.
All talk, no substance.
Demanding a senior title and an exorbitant salary right off the bat.
Did she think the Azure Atelier was run by a bunch of fools?
"I'm sorry, but we can't meet those conditions," Matthew flatly refused.
Willow lowered her eyes in thought for a few seconds before replying, "Let's compromise. I'll start as a junior restorer, but on the condition that I study directly under the master restorer Raine."
Then, they flattered her so she couldn't refuse the audience.
To top it off, Charlotte had deliberately distracted her the entire time.
It was an intentional setup!
She sneered at Charlotte, though she gave Matthew a polite nod as she passed him.
After all, Matthew was the son of Crispin Sutton, a national-level master.
They would cross paths again, and she was confident she could win him over eventually.
As for Charlotte, she was just a peripheral daughter of the Clark family.
She wasn't even worth her time!
The moment Willow left, Charlotte doubled over in a fit of laughter.

That evening.
Jabez, Trent, Milton, and Willow were gathered at the Serenity Lounge.
