She had spent every cent of it managing the social obligations and gifts for the Shelby family. Now, that account only had five million dollars left.

Jabez was sickeningly generous with Willow, casually throwing around eighty million.

Her seven years of devotion felt like a pathetic joke.

The drive was silent.

They returned to the Azure Atelier and immersed themselves in work.

After finishing for the day, Yvette went home and collapsed exhaustedly onto the couch.

Her phone rang. It was Charlotte.

"Look at the screenshot I just sent you."

Yvette opened their chat to see a post from Willow's social media.

It was a picture of the luxurious matching watches.

The caption read: Thank you for the gift, Mr. Shelby.

The post was flooded with likes, including from Trent, Milton, and several of Jabez's friends she barely recognized.

They all had Willow's contact info. They clearly treated her like one of their own.

Yvette had been married to Jabez for seven years.

He had never once brought her around his friends or allowed her into his inner circle.

Yet Willow had breezed in effortlessly.

Yvette gripped her phone so tightly her knuckles turned white.

"What the hell! This pisses me off so much!" Charlotte fumed. "That homewrecker is out here flaunting her relationship! Does she really think she's the wife? Post your marriage license right now and slap her in the face."

"It's not worth getting mad over someone like her," Yvette said, taking two deep breaths to steady herself.

"Don't forget, we're getting divorced soon anyway."

"Good! Dump his ass, and I'll introduce you to some actual decent men!" Charlotte said venomously.

"Yeah."

Mr. Lloyd seemed to be texting someone important and completely ignored the gesture.

Not daring to interrupt, Lance held his awkward, bowing pose, hands outstretched.

Minutes later, Mr. Lloyd finally deigned to lift his chin.

He looked at Lance in mock surprise. "You're still here?"

Lance's expression stiffened, and he slowly straightened his back. "Please remember to review it."

With that, he shoved the stack of papers into Mr. Lloyd's arms and strode away.

Mr. Lloyd watched his proud retreat and scoffed.

The Yeats family was practically at the bottom of the Kingsbrook hierarchy now. To put it bluntly, one wrong move and they’d be bankrupt, buried in massive debt.

What did he have to be proud of?

He walked over to a trash can and tossed Lance's proposal away like a piece of garbage.
