Chapter 173 Assisting in Surgery

The surgery had been running for three-hours, and the situation wasn’t looking good.

After the nurse stepped out, Isabella’s mind was spinning

Noah’s vitals had stabilized. He was successfully moved to recovery and then transferred to the ICU.

When Isabella came to, she was lying in a quiet private hospital room.

Her arm was wrapped securely, and an IV was running into her other hand.

She could hear low voices outside. Struggling to sit up, she reached for the call button beside the bed-just as the door opened.

Harry and Jacob walked in together.

“Ms. Carter, how are you feeling? Is the pain in your arm any better?”

Harry moved closer right away, checking her over.

But Isabella didn’t answer his question. Instead, she looked straight at Jacob. “Where’s Xavier? How did his surgery go?”

Checking the clock, she realized she’d been out for almost two hours.

The whole time, her thoughts had been clouded, filled with images of Xavier pale and in pain.

When they’d taken him into surgery, she hadn’t been there with him.

“Mrs. Moore, Mr. Moore is out of danger now. He’s resting in another room-till unconscious, but stable…”

Jacob quickly filled her in.
