Chapter 193 Driving öft
Chapter 193 Driving Off
For a moment, it almost looked like the boy didn’t even know who he was.
“Hey–I came to talk about… what happened last time.”
Hannah quickly shifted to block Harry’s view of Jason.

Ever since Harry had poured his heart out to her at that party, Hannah had been avoiding him. His feelings were too much, too intense–she didn’t know how to handle them, and she certainly didn’t want to face them head–on.
After that night, she’d ignored every text and call from him.
Now Harry just stood there quietly, waiting for her to go on.
Hannah pressed her lips together. “I’ve been thinking… what’s done is done. There’s no point in dragging something out when it’s not going anywhere.”
“That’s all?” Harry tilted his head slightly, leaning in just enough to close the space between them.
“Yes.” For some reason, whenever Harry looked at her that directly, Hannah couldn’t help but feel guilty.
“So you came all this way… to tell me something I already knew?”
Harry’s expression didn’t change at all–if anything, he sounded almost amused, like her words hadn’t even scratched the surface.
“I did think about it,” Hannah insisted. “Things like this… they should be said in person.”
“And you brought the kid with you. That really sells it.”
His reply made her feel like she was being mocked.
“Anyway, I should go. My car’s right over there.”
Hannah reached for the door handle on Jason’s side, but it was locked.
“Can you unlock it?”
The moment she spoke, Harry leaned across her, one hand resting near her shoulder, caging her gently against the seat.
“What are you doing? Harry, just because there’s nobody around doesn’t mean you can-”
Her voice tightened into a scolding tone, but before she could finish, a soft click sounded, and the door popped open.
Harry’s arm had brushed past her to push it ajar.
“Fingerprint lock.”
He met her eyes with a faint, innocent–looking smile–clearly deliberate.
Heat rushed to Hannah’s cheeks. She nodded quickly, grabbed Jason’s hand, and slid out of the car.
Harry stepped out too and fell into step beside her as she headed toward her own vehicle.

Hannah walked fast, relieved to be out in the cool open air. Being around Marry lately felt suffocating.
She’d just settled Jason into the back seat and slipped behind the wheel when Harry tapped on her window.
Reluctantly, she lowered it just a crack. Harry’s smile was soft. “Drive safe, Hannah.”
“Thanks. Bye,” she said hurriedly.
But before she could raise the window, his hand came to rest lightly against the glass.
“I’m Xavier’s personal physician. I’ll be stopping by regularly to check on him.”

Hannah’s heart stuttered.
Running into Harry here tonight had completely thrown her off. He thought–Skyler was her son… and now Isabella was staying at Xavier’s with Skyler.
If either Isabella or Xavier found out there were two boys… she didn’t even want to imagine what would happen.
Still, judging by how Harry had acted toward both her and Skyler tonight, it didn’t seem like he knew the full story.
Or was he testing her? Feeling her out to see what she’d reveal?
Her mind raced, but she kept her expression neutral. “You mean the CEO of Moore Group? That kid who came out earlier… is he Xavier’s?”
“I don’t get involved in Xavier’s personal life. I just know his wife recently moved back in.” Harry paused, his gaze steady. “She’s a Carter, too.”
Hannah stared back at him.
He was hinting at something, and they both knew it.
True, Harry might not know why she was here tonight–but if he thought about it, he’d realize she’d been looking for someone inside Xavier’s house.
“What are you trying to say?”
She was starting to lose her cool.
Had Harry actually seen Skyler or not?
If he had, how could he be so calm?
The way he’d looked at Jason earlier–that surprise had seemed genuine. It didn’t feel like an act.
And with a man like Xavier… why would he let outsiders know the child his wife brought home wasn’t his? Maybe Harry was just fishing for information.
“I’m not trying to say anything.” Harry’s expression softened, sincere and gentle. “I won’t pry into your personal life. But if you ever need anything… you know how to reach me.”
With that, he took his hand off the window.

Hannah pressed her lips together, said nothing else, and rolled the window up.
In the rearview mirror, she watched kim stand there, unmoving, as she drove away.
Late that night, at Moore Manor/
The door to Stanley’s bedroom was firmly shut. Five feet away, Wilson knelt in silence, flanked by his men.
The air was thick and tense; everyone’s face was grim.
Then a soft creak broke the quiet as a graceful figure emerged from the room, closing the door gently behind her.
It was Teresa, carrying a bowl of barely touched oatmeal–Stanley’s late–night snack, a clear sign he was still awake.
