Xavier snapped, “You’re the one who dragged your bags back here. You really think this is some place you can come and go as ye please?”
Emma saw Xavier and Isabella walk in and hurried over right away.
When she spotted Isabella in his arms, her expression shifted.
The two were arguing, but it looked just like a married couple’s fight–closer.
Emma stepped forward quickly to block Xavier. “Is something wrong with Mrs. Moore? Mr. Moore, you shouldn’t overexert yourse Let me help her…”
‘This doesn’t concern you. Move,” Xavier cut her off coldly before she could finish.
Emma flinched and stepped aside at once. “Yes, Mr. Moore.”
Kavier carried Isabella into the bedroom, tossed her onto the large bed, yanked off his tie, and turned to lock the door.
At the sharp click of the lock, Isabella tensed up instantly. “Xavier, don’t you dare try anything. No matter how much power you nave, you can’t just do whatever you want.”
‘Too late for that. I’ve been doing whatever! want for a long time,” Xavier said coldly.
He tossed his coat and tie onto the floor, and a few buttons on his shirt popped open in the motion.
In the lamplight, his already delicate skin took on an almost sickly glow.
sabella scrambled up from the bed to leave, but Xavier pressed her shoulders and shoved her back against the headboard.
Kavier’s breathing was heavy; sweat covered his face and neck. With them so close, Isabella noticed his cheeks were bright red- either from the heat or from bottled–up anger.
Isabella fought back again, pushing against his chest. His shirt was thin, so she could feel his firm muscles, but the force he pushed back with made her weak wrists struggle to hold on.
She stammered, “What… What are you doing?”
Xavier let her struggle, but didn’t budge an inch. His eyes tocked on her, sharp and hungry
A dangerous, tense heat hung between them.
She could feel his strong heartbeat thudding faster and hotter against her hand, and she slowly lowered her arms.
Xavier murmured, his voice still cold but laced with burning heat, “We’re married. What do you think I’m doing?”
Isabella’s ears burned hot, and she stumbled over her words. “Xavier, do you just not care at all? I’m… I’m the one who cheated on

Watching her lips keep moving, Xavier couldn’t hold back any longer. He crashed his mouth down on hers in a rough kiss.
Isabella froze for a second, then fought wildly, lifting her leg to kick him in the groin…
But Xavier reacted instantly, pinning her thigh down with one hand, and his palm landed right on a sensitive spot. Isabella felt prickly, uncomfortable heat crawl through her veins.
Furious, Isabella bit his tongue hard.
A sharp, metallic taste of blood filled both their mouths.
The veins on Xavier’s neck stood out taut, but he refused to pull away, as if refusing to back down from her.
He only released her when the air ran thin. Isabella raised her hand to hit him, but Xavier caught her wrist mid–swing–only to s tears streaming down her face, her eyes wide, silent with shock.
sabella looked hollow and defeated, not angry but utterly crushed.
A flicker of surprise crossed Xavier’s eyes. His heart suddenly clenched tight, a sour ache making it hard to breathe.
Have I gone too far?
His tongue throbbed with pain. Xavier wiped his mouth and spat out a mouthful of blood.
She is far crueler than I am.
He grabbed some tissues from the coffee table, wiped his own mouth, then held one out to Isabella.
sabella turned her head away and refused to take it.
(avier grew more annoyed. He forced the tissue to her face to wipe away her tears. Enraged by the force, Isabella grabbed a pillo rom the bed and threw it at him.
de caught it with one hand. He wanted to hurl it back hard, but when he saw her small, trembling frame huddled by the bed, his aised arm fell back down.
(avier said, his voice rough and tired, “Don’t bring up divorce again. We can make this work.”
