Xavier said into the phone, “Got it. I’ll head over to you.”

Isabella jolted in shock. She scrambled out of bed at once, but it was too late. The second Xavier stepped out, the door locked with a click.

“Xavier! Open the door!” Isabella twisted the doorknob frantically, and a maid soon appeared outside.

She called through the door, “Mrs. Moore, Mr. Moore gave orders. Call us if you need anything we’re right here.”

“Open this door!” Isabella demanded at once. “Xavier’s lost his mind. Unlock it now.”

The maid replied hesitantly, “I’m sorry, Mrs. Moore. You’ll have to speak to Mr. Moore about this. We can’t do anything without his permission. Besides, Mr. Moore has the only key”

Before Isabella could say another word, she heard Emma’s voice. “Quit rambling. Did you forget Mr. Moore’s orders? Let Mrs. Moore

rest.”

“Emma, let me out of here,” Isabella said quickly.

Emma sneered, “Wow, Mrs. Moore, you give me way too much credit. I’m just a housekeeper–I don’t dare go against Mr. Moore’s

orders either.”

Isabella lowered her voice. “You want Linda to be Mrs. Moore, don’t you? Let me out, and I’ll divorce Xavier for good.”

Emma froze at her words and glanced at the locked door for a split second.

But she said nothing and walked away coldly.

Xavier sped all the way to the intersection near the Allen Villa.

Linda was already waiting there. As soon as his car pulled up, she climbed inside quickly.

She’d changed into casual clothes–simple and plain, but her makeup was still perfectly done.

Relief and joy replaced the worry on her face when she saw he’d come to meet her so late.

“You said you have a lead on the miracle doctor Aletta. Where is she?” Xavier leaned his head against the car window and spoke without even glancing at Linda.

He wasn’t feeling well, and waves of exhaustion washed over him.

Linda had told him on the phone that she’d just gotten important, reliable information on Aletta and wanted to talk to him face–to- face.

Noah didn’t have much time left. Finding Aletta one day sooner meant one more chance of saving him.

Linda’s expression dimmed a little. “The therapy center under Moore Group.”

Xavier’s eyes widened at her words.

He stared out at the road, where streetlights cast uneven streaks of light across the pavement.

Linda went on, “Aletta’s a single mother. She enrolled her child there not long ago. If you look into it carefully, you should be able to find her.”

Xavier thought back to the last lead Quill had given him–it had also ended at that very therapy center.
