After confirming the hallway was empty, Isabella made a slow circle around the private hospital room before returning to Noah’s bedside.

“Okay, you can drop the act now.”

As her words faded, Noah’s eyes eased open. He tilted his head slightly toward the woman standing beside the bed, a faint smile touching his lips even though his voice came out strained. “After all these years… you finally came back.”

He tried pushing himself up on his elbows, wincing with the effort. Isabella moved closer to help, adjusting the bed’s incline until he was more comfortably seated.
