Peach had just returned home when she saw a man sitting in the living room, casually with one leg crossed over the other, flanked by two men in black. The seated man looked at her with a sinister smile. “Excuse me for intruding.”
“Who are you? And how did you get in?” Peach asked, horrified.
Gray smiled and said, “You don’t need to know who we are. As for how we got in, that’s simple. We’re visiting today primarily because we need your help with a favor.”
Peach looked at him skeptically. “What favor?”
Gray stood up and walked toward Peach. “Where is your father, Leonard? I believe you know, so please tell us.”
“You want to find my father?” Peach asked in surprise.
Gray’s lips curled into a cold, menacing smile. “That’s right. We’d like to ask Leonard for a favor. I assume you won’t refuse, will you?”
Peach narrowed her eyes, looking at the man. She hesitated. “Are you people from Radovia?” She couldn’t think of anyone else who would be looking for her father after all these years. That gang from long ago had also trespassed into their home the same way and taken her mother.
Gray clapped his hands and said slowly, “You are truly bright, Ms. Peach. That’s right. Our boss would like to invite Leonard as a guest. We ask for your cooperation.”
“What if I refuse to tell you?” Peach replied coldly.
Gray smiled wickedly. “Then don’t blame us for being impolite.” He clapped his hands, and a door on the second floor opened. Two people were pushed out, their mouths gagged, their eyes wide with fear as they looked down at Peach, making muffled noises.
Peach stared at the scene, shocked. “How dare you do this?” She never imagined these people would use her son and husband to threaten her.
Gray shrugged, smiling. “There’s a saying in Dracovia: all’s fair in war, isn’t there, Ms. Peach? So, how do you choose? Will you cooperate willingly, or shall we put your son and husband through a little torture?”
Peach looked at her terrified son upstairs, her heart aching. “If I cooperate with you, will you release my husband and son?”
“Of course,” Gray replied.
Peach hardened her resolve. “Fine. I will cooperate.”
“Now that’s a clever person,” Gray said triumphantly. “Since that’s settled, once you’ve helped us complete our mission, we will naturally release your family.”
Peach gritted her teeth. “How do I cooperate?”
Gray smiled. “Why, Ms. Peach will take us to Leonard, of course. After all, you know Leonard’s temper, I assume. To avoid unnecessary conflict and ensure Leonard cooperates with us, we’ll need the leverage of his daughter, won’t we?”
Peach was shocked. “You want to use me to threaten my father?”
Gray chuckled. “How can you call this a threat? This is merely a chance to prove how much value his daughter holds in Leonard’s heart. If he truly cares for you, his daughter, he will naturally come with us. Of course, if he doesn’t care about his daughter, then we can only feel sorry for you.”
“The industry Ivanov chose is indeed the most promising sector for future development. So, Ms. Linette, you don’t need to worry. I guarantee he will succeed.”
