Pouring herself a glass of water, she closed her eyes to inspect her newly upgraded domain. The moment her consciousness crossed the threshold, she froze in absolute awe.

The modest football-field plot was entirely gone. The boundary fog had retreated to the horizon, revealing a massive, fertile territory that stretched the size of ten football fields. Rich, vibrant green grass carpets ran into the distance, melting into sprawling, pristine fields of brown dirt with large green patches of green. It was true! Her space could grow grass now!

Turning around, she gasped. The rustic shack had morphed into a sprawling, two-story stone villa complete with multiple spacious bedrooms and vaulted ceilings. This wasn’t just a locker anymore; this was a fortress. She had enough square footage to park a fleet of armored vehicles or stack dozens of heavy shipping containers like a private mini-mall. She looked up and realized she could build upwards with no problem.

I need to completely rewrite my logistical strategy, Joanna realized, her mind racing with the agricultural possibilities of those massive fields.

Before leaving the villa, she noticed a change in the rear courtyard where the fog used to sit. She swept her mind toward the back area, her internal eyes widening. Nestled in a shallow, naturally terraced stone basin was a crystal-clear pool fed by a bubbling subterranean spring.

Curious, she focused her mind on the physical glass of tap water in her hand, bringing it into her space. She dipped it into the mental spring, filled it to the brim, and manifested the glass back into the physical world.

She took a cautious sip.

Instantly, a shockwave of raw, electric energy surged down her throat. Her lingering post- evolution headache vanished in a fraction of a second. A profound lightness spread through her muscles, washing away every ounce of chronic fatigue.

This water isn’t just clean, Joanna thought, her heart hammering with revelation. It’s a rejuvenative elixir.

She watched in fascination as a few stray droplets spilled from her glass onto a small potted plant on the hotel windowsill; the withered leaves unfurled and grew a noticeable half-inch within seconds.

In her past life, she had spent five years constantly exhausted, battered, and starving. Now, she possessed a fountain of infinite recovery. Even if she fought zombies to the point of collapse, a single swallow of this water would turn her into an unstoppable force.

Her eyes darted to the velvet box containing the emerald teardrop earrings. If the ring had granted her an agricultural paradise and a healing spring, what would reuniting the final piece

She reached for the box but paused. No. First things first. She needed to eat, secure her liquidity, and meet her attorney.

Slipping the earrings into her pocket along with Gwen’s financial documents, she headed down to the hotel lobby. Her lawyer was already waiting, quietly scanning his tablet near a decorative pillar.

Joanna slid into the armchair opposite him and pushed the fresh folder of bearer bonds across the table. He reviewed the documents, his eyes widening slightly before he masked his surprise with professional composure.

“Excellent timing, Miss Harington,” he murmured, leaning in. “The initial corporate share liquidations have already cleared the clearinghouse. By tomorrow morning, a secured, untraceable wire transfer of sixty million dollars will hit your primary account, followed by an additional five million from these specific bonds.”

Joanna’s expression remained perfectly serene, though a thrill of victory sang in her veins. “Superb work. I’m transitioning my lifestyle to go completely off-grid, so I will text you a encrypted secondary number tomorrow. Use that line to update me once you’ve cashed out the remaining assets from my mother’s safe.”

She opened her banking app and smoothly transferred a flat one million dollars directly into his firm’s retainer account. “Cash out whatever can be moved cleanly. If a document carries too much legal red tape or risk, burn it. I want my family completely severed from these assets.”

The attorney stared at the sudden million-dollar notification on his phone, his throat going dry. He nodded fervently, his previous professional detachment melting into absolute loyalty. “Consider it done, Miss Harington. Everything will be thoroughly insulated. Have a wonderful evening.”

With her financial empire secured, Joanna treated herself to a celebratory dinner at her favorite local diner. Sitting in a quiet booth, she savored a giant gourmet bacon burger, crispy golden fries, and a thick chocolate milkshake. It was a simple meal, but after five years of chewing on stale ration bars in the mud of the apocalypse, it tasted like absolute divinity.

When she finished, she waved over the restaurant manager. “I’d like to place a massive catering order for pickup tomorrow morning before I head to the airport,” she said, pulling out a high- limit black card. “Give me one hundred of your signature burgers, wrapped tightly in foil, along with one hundred orders of fries and one hundred milkshakes in assorted flavors.”

The manager blinked, stunned, but the immediate chime of the card reader clearing the massive balance put a massive smile on his face. He promised everything would be piping hot and ready for her by ten a.m.

Joanna smiled. Because time stood completely still inside her storage villa, those hundred hot
