Chapter 113 Aegis Defense Solutions

Wasting no time-Joanna walked straight up to the entrance of Aegis Defense Solutions, grabbed the heavy steel security door, and ripped it clean off its hinges with her enhanced strength. She tossed the heavy frame aside with a loud crash. Without turning back to face the guys, she gave a swift command.

“Check the back of the storeroom and the offices. Clear out any threats and gather the high-value stock.

They immediately split up, Jake and Julian moving toward the rear of the building with their/bats and hatchets ready. Joanna started right at the front showroom, looking around at the prepper’s paradise tha the smug owner had once tried to overcharge them for. With a cold smile, she began sweeping her gaze across the immaculate displays.

With fluid, continuous waves of her hand, she began putting everything directly into her newly upgraded level 13 storage warehouse in her space. First went the rows of Tier-1 Crye Precision plate carriers with their ceramic Level IV ballistic plates. Next, she swiped the entire optics display, swallowing up the $42,000 L3Harris panoramic night-vision goggles (GPNVGs) and the military-grade thermal imaging scopes.

She kept moving, clearing out the entire stock of full-body CBRN hazardous prep suits, voice-amplifying respirators, and oxygen lines. Finally, she targeted the extreme weather apparel, vanishing the Gore-Tex combat uniforms lined with graphene-infused heating elements that would protect them from the coldest winter in history. In mere minutes, millions of dollars worth of premium, bleeding-edge military gear vanished into her massive, expanded pocket dimension.

Jake kicked open the door to a high-end back office, his metal bat held ready, but the room was completely empty of threats. Instead, his eyes locked onto a massive, heavily reinforced glass display case lining the back wall. Inside sat a collection of advanced weapons, each stamped with experimental serial numbers and custom labels. Everything in the office was clearly prototypes, featuring bleeding-edge designs, integrated smart tech, and experimental carbon-fiber builds.

A massive grin spread across Jake’s face, making him look exactly like a child standing in a candy store. Without saying a single word to the others, he grabbed several heavy-duty tactical duffel bags from a nearby shelf. He shattered the glass doors with his metal bat and began eagerly packing the rare prototype weapons, scopes, and specialized ammunition drums into the bags, moving with frantic, joyful energy.

Julian made his way into the back of the facility, completely blown away by the pristine military supplies filling the secondary storeroom. Striking black tactical assault gear, heavy-duty Kevlar combat gloves, and sleek, weather-resistant polymer thigh holsters immediately caught his eye.

He dug deeper through the crates, pulling out insulated stealth combat boots, matte-black ballistic helmets with integrated comms mounts, and specialized load-bearing tactical vests designed for high-mobility fighting. There were piles of anti-static utility pants, fire-retardant combat shirts, and reinforced elbow and knee pads that would keep him pristine during a firefight.

Julian’s eyes practically lit up when he uncovered a rack of lightweight, battery-heated tactical parkas and a stash of military-grade shockproof electronics casings. The sheer quality of the gear was unmatched, and he couldn’t help but crack a rare, genuinely excited smile as he began tossing his favorite pieces into a pile.

Joanna heard Julian call out her name from the back room and immediately headed down the hallway, stepping into the secondary storeroom. Without pausing to admire the gear, she extended her hands, and waves of spatial energy washed over the space. In a fraction of a second, Julian’s carefully selected pile of stealth gear, the heavy equipment crates, and the entire inventory of tactical clothes vanished into thin air.

Chapter 113 Aegis Defense Solutions

Just after she cleared the back room, Jake came jogging in from the high-end office. He effortlessly threw the heavy tactical duffel bags packed with prototype weapons straight toward her. Mid-air, before the bags ld even touch the floor, Joanna waved her hand and swept them directly into her pocket dimension.

Julian watched the massive mountain of supplies and the flying duffel bags disappear in an instant, his jaw dropping slightly. He shook his head, deeply impressed by the sheer speed and capacity of her newly upgraded space. “Man,” he muttered, looking around the completely empty concrete room, “no matter how many times I see you do that, it never stops being absolutely insane.”

“Let’s eat and get some rest before we make the run to the ports,” Joanna suggested, leading the guys back the front showroom.

Finding a clear spot by the large front window to keep watch, she reached into her pocket/dimension and pulled out a spread of perfectly hot, steaming food. She handed them thick ceramic bowls filled with rich, slow-simmered beef stew, the tender chunks of meat and hearty root vegetables practically melting in a savory, aromatic broth. Alongside the stew, she brought out basketfuls of golden, garlic-buttered rolls that were still soft and warm to the touch, and plates of sizzling, honey-glazed chicken skewers that filled the empty store with a mouthwatering fragrance.

Jake and Julian didn’t waste a second digging in, the comforting heat of the gourmet meal instantly melting away the grueling fatigue of their three-hour battle through the city. They sat in the dim light by the window, watching the silent, ruined streets of Blackwood while enjoying a luxury that few left alive could even dream of.

As they ate, the initial tension of the day fully melted away, replacing the chaotic adrenaline with a rare moment of quiet camaraderie. Sitting on the concrete floor with their backs against the showroom counter, Jake and Julian joked about the absurd number of zombies Julian had incinerated during their ride over. Joanna watched them with a relaxed smile, feeling a profound sense of responsibility for the people sitting beside her. In this ruined world, moments of shared laughter over a hot meal were the glue holding their humanity together.
