Chapter 186 Glacier

Jonna tensed, her knuckles turning white against her seatrest. The sudden tension in the front seat radiated backward through the three rows of the SUV, causing the team’s triumphant mood to vanish instantly.
Jolie looked over from the middle row, her hand resting on the seatback. “Joanna? What’s wrong? If this guy is one of the top fighters from your dream, maybe we can recruit him, boss? Think about how strong we’d be with an ice user.”
Joanna shook her head vehemently, her breath hitching slightly. “No, no, no! I am never letting Glacier on
our team.”
Her voice sounded nervous and almost worried, a rare crack in her usually unshakable demeanor. Images from her prophetic premonitions flashed through her mind-memories of Glacier’s absolute ruthlessness, the frozen wastelands he left in his wake, and the sheer terror his name commanded later in the apocalypse. She didn’t want that kind of volatile, destructive element anywhere near her pocket dimension or her people.
Caleb leaned forward from his seat, his eyes locking onto the back of Joanna’s head. His expression remained calm, grounded by the fragmented timelines he had just pulled from his meditation.
“Joanna, Glacier is not like what you remembered him as,” Caleb said softly, his steady voice breaking through her rising panic. “He has already awakened his ability, but it’s still weak. He can’t freeze whole battlefields yet. Right now, his power is in its infancy. If we go in now, we hold all the cards.”
Joanna’s grip on the dashboard slowly loosened, though her muscles remained taut. She took a deep breath, forcing her level-three composure to lock back into place as she looked back at Caleb.
“Where is he?” she demanded, her voice dropping into a cold register. “Is he at the distribution center, or the canning factory?”
Caleb sighed heavily, the sound cutting through the thick, heavy silence that had suddenly gripped the interior of the SUV. Every single team member in the vehicle sat completely frozen, their eyes darting between Caleb and Joanna as they listened intently to the exchange. Even Jake’s hands tightened on the steering wheel, slowing the vehicle down slightly as the terrifying weight of Joanna’s prophetic memories hung over them.
“He is the danger at the canning factory,” Caleb finally revealed, his voice steady but solemn as he broke the paralyzing tension. “And there is another problem. Drew is with him.”
The moment the name left Caleb’s mouth, Joanna closed her eyes and began banging her head against the passenger side glass in pure frustration. Thud. Thud. Thud.
Rachel leaned forward from the back row, her brow furrowed in confusion as she looked at the dreamweaver. “Who is Drew?”
Julian let out a sharp, mocking scoff from the third row. “Drew is just a peacock that was with Joanna’s sister. A total joke.”
“More importantly,” Caleb corrected Julian, his tone turning incredibly dry as he delivered the real kicker, “Drew ended up as Joanna’s boyfriend in her past dream.”
The silence inside the SUV instantly turned suffocating. With a synchronized, violent snap, both Julian and

Briggs turned their heads to glare directly at the back of Joanna’s head. Briggs’s knuckles began to smoke with a dangerous orange heat, while a sharp, crackling tension flared around Julian’s entire posture. Joanna
opped banging her head against the glass, keeping her eyes closed as she felt the heavy, suffocating weight of her teammates’ sudden, intense focus locking onto her.
Joanna spoke in a flat tone. “We are skipping the Canning Factory.”
Briggs’s eyes got wide in the middle row. “Joanna, why would you say that? The canning factory has store rooms filled with all types of canned food! Just because you’re nervous about seeing an ex, you want to give all that up?”
Joanna scoffed, finally opening her eyes and turning around to glare at him. “Drew is only a minor problem.) But Glacier? One wrong look from us and he goes nuclear.”
“Jake, keep driving toward the distribution center,” Joanna ordered, her voice cutting through the heavy tension. “We lock down the massive haul first. Let Glacier and Drew freeze in that factory for another day:
Joanna directed Jake through several winding side streets, navigating around rusted barriers and trash heaps until the massive silhouette of the Dillon Logistics Hub came into view. The distribution center was a colossal, sprawling warehouse facility encircled by a high, reinforced chain-link fence. This wasn’t just a simple storage depot; it was a regional supply artery packed to the rafters with high-end clothing, pallets of grocery foods, as well as specialized industrial cold-storage sections filled with valuable perishable foods.
“Jake, pull us right up to the primary loading dock,” Joanna commanded, her eyes sweeping the dark, quiet exterior of the building.
The heavy gates of the fence had been smashed open, and the ground around the entrance was heavily trampled with a mix of old footprints and fresh tire tracks. Jake killed the engine, and the tactical SUV glided to a halt inside the shadows of the primary loading dock. The team moved with practiced efficiency. Joanna led the way through a side security door, her level-three physical presence radiating pure dominance.
The moment they entered the massive warehouse, the vast scale of the facility opened up before them. Towers of steel shelving stretched into the dim rafters, loaded with crates of high-end clothing, bulk grocery foods, and specialized bins of perishable items. Scattered throughout the aisles, a few timid survivors in small groups were frantically throwing items into canvas bags. They looked thin, exhausted, and desperate.
At the sound of the heavy security door clicking open, everyone froze.
The survivors turned, their eyes widening as they took in the heavily armed, powered-up squad. Before anyone could speak, Julian stepped forward. He was still irritated by the conversation in the car about Joanna’s past-timeline boyfriend. Looking to vent, he didn’t hold back his aura. Blue, blinding arcs of electricity began to dance aggressively along his arms and crackle vividly over his eyes as he stared them down.
The display of raw, elemental power broke the survivors’ resolve instantly. They freaked out, dropping their half-filled bags onto the concrete floor.
“That is the one I heard about!” a man in the closest group shrieked, his face turning completely pale. “The Executioner!”
“The Executioner is here!” all the survivors screamed in terror.
