Chapter 188 Supply Heist

Haring her speak broke Glacier out of his trance. He remained still, but his tense shoulders dropped, completely softening his combative stance.

Drew, standing right beside him, squinted through the dim warehouse light until his eyes went wide. “Wait. Aren’t you Alice’s sister, Joanna?”

Joanna shifted her gaze to Drew, and her expression instantly went ice-cold. “Drew…” Joanna said coldly, “did you lose my sister already?”

Drew flushed crimson, thoroughly embarrassed. Alice running off with Elliot and abandoning him here in Dillon was a bitter past he desperately wanted to forget. He got immediately flustered, stammering, “No I.. I didn’t…”

Joanna cut him off completely, turning her attention back to Glacier with that same polite, detached mask. “Did you need something here?”

Glacier nodded, gaining some of his restless, scrappy energy back as he broke out of his lingering daze. “Yeah. We heard you were taking all the supplies here. We can’t let you take it when we need them!”

Joanna maintained her polite, steady demeanor. “We are just survivors here like you guys. Since our group has fewer people than yours, how about you let us have two crates of rice and beans? You can take the rest.”

Glacier paused, his brash demeanor faltering as he scanned the cavernous warehouse. The survivors who fled had insisted this place was packed with a massive haul, yet the room was almost completely empty, save for the two rows Joanna’s team was loading. He wondered if those panicked runners had simply been exaggerating out of fear. This woman was being polite and remarkably fair by leaving the majority of what

remained.

Drew stepped forward, his tone sharp and accusing. “Why should you take that much? With our numbers, do you really think it’s worth it to fight us?”

The instant she looked at Drew, Joanna’s warm, kind expression vanished, replaced by a stone-cold glare. “We have fewer people than you, but that doesn’t mean you are in charge of these supplies.”

Behind her, the team decided they had played nice long enough. Briggs stepped up, allowing a bright, high- temperature flame to dance casually across his knuckles. The raiders gasped, their hands instantly twitching toward their weapons as nervousness rippled through their ranks.

Before they could recover, Jolie stepped out, a thick green vine snapping out from her sleeve and cracking through the humid air like a leather whip. Glacier’s entire group paled, their confidence evaporating.

Then Julian stepped forward. He didn’t just flash a spark; a terrifying surge of blue electricity completely covered his body, arcing violently across his clothes and turning his eyes into glowing orbs of lethal current.

The display of multiple high-level elemental abilities completely crushed the raiders’ resolve. Glacier’s men gasped in pure terror. In the very back of their group, one of the armed survivors’ eyes rolled back, and he straight fainted to the concrete ground, completely ignored by his paralyzed comrades.

Glacier swallowed hard, the sharp drop in room pressure making his heart race. He raised his hands, and a small, brittle blade of ice materialized over his knuckles. He was visibly nervous, his power still weak and unrefined, but his scrappy nature kept him resolved to fight to the death if he had to.

Joanna looked back at Glacier’s defensive stance and smiled gently, her expression softening the immense

ssure in the room. “Look, kind sir. I see you are also an ability user! Our common enemy is zombies and hunger. Shouldn’t we be united in this fight?”

Glacier tilted his head, the logic cutting through his adrenaline. He looked at the smoking fire on Briggs’s knuckles, Jolie’s snapping vines, and the terrifying lightning cloaking Julian. He realized with absolute certainty that this group could destroy his entire crew in seconds without taking a single scratch. Yet, this powerful woman was being incredibly fair, polite, and respectful.

He nodded slowly, the ice blade dissolving back into mist. “You have a good point. We should be united

Joanna replied instantly, her voice warm. “Exactly! We want no trouble with you, only a bit of food.”
