Chapter 189 Race To The Canning Facility

Inunder one minute, the truck was fully loaded, and everyone jumped back into the three-row SUV. Sitting comfortably in the front passenger seat, Joanna remained perfectly polite. She rolled down her window, nodded respectfully to Glacier, and said, “The rest of everything is yours.”

She gave a cheerful wave, and Jake slammed his foot on the gas, driving the heavy tactical SUV right out of the warehouse gate and leaving the terrified raiders in their dust.

The moment the SUV tore out of the warehouse gate and hit the main road, the suffocating tension inside the vehicle evaporated.

From the back rows, Jolie and Rachel burst into loud, unstoppable laughter, their voices echoing off the leather seats. Jolie leaned forward, clutching her stomach as she looked toward the front seat. “Boss, that was an absolute masterpiece! ‘Hello, kind sir!’ I swear I almost lost it right then and there!”

Rachel wiped a tear of mirth from her eye, her silver-glowing gaze finally fading back to normal. “The lock on Glacier’s face when you offered him that small amount of supplies was priceless. He thought he was negotiating with a benevolent saint, completely oblivious to the fact that you already hoarded ninety percent of the warehouse into your pocket dimension!”

“And slimy Drew!” Jolie cackled, shaking her head. “He looked like he was about to faint right along with that guy in the back row. One minute they are trying to intimidate us, and the next, Joanna single-handedly hoists a half-ton pallet of rice like it’s a bag of potato chips.”

Jake chuckled softly from the driver’s seat, keeping his eyes on the road as he navigated the tactical SUV toward their next destination. “The look on that survivor’s face when he whispered ‘the demoness’ is going to stay with me for a long time.”

Joanna just leaned back against her headrest, a small, satisfied smirk playing on her lips as she looked out at the passing streets of Dillon. Her polite act had completely neutralized a future apocalyptic powerhouse, left Drew utterly humiliated, and bought them the perfect window of opportunity.

“Laugh all you want, guys,” Joanna said, her voice dripping with playful amusement. “But while Glacier and his crew are busy scratching their heads and loading those two leftover shelves, we have an entire canning factory to clean out.”

Caleb spoke up from the middle row, thoroughly impressed with how she had handled the situation. “Joanna, that was a brilliant move with Glacier. But we need to hurry to the canning facility. Glacier and his group are definitely going there right after they finish loading those shelves.”

Joanna smirked, her eyes reflecting pure confidence as she looked out at the passing streets. “Just get me there and I will clean it out in under five minutes.”

Jolie grinned from her seat, letting out a low chuckle. “Hey boss, leave some cans behind so he thinks he scored something.”

Joanna’s smirk widened at the suggestion. It was the perfect way to keep Glacier satisfied and unsuspecting. while they secured the real wealth of Dillon.

“Jake, take the fastest route,” Joanna ordered.

Jake nodded, throwing the tactical SUV into a tight turn as the engine roared down the autumn streets. The

race was officially on to strip the canning factory bare before the future ice powerhouse could ever catch up to them.

When they pulled up to the facility, the entryway was swarming with zombies dressed in stained, industrial uniforms from the canning facility. It looked like a horde of at least seventy five zombies wandering around the loading docks and parking lot.

Jake tapped the brakes, idling the tactical SUV a short distance away.” No wonder no one got the supplies here yet. How do you want to handle this, boss?”…

Joanna huffed, looking a little annoyed as she stared at the crowd of infected. “I guess we should clear them out so Glacier can move in when he gets here. So annoying! You guys clear most of the zombies out. Just make sure you throw the bodies somewhere so Glacier doesn’t suspect anything when he arrives. Also, try to get the cores fast.”
