With an explosive flurry of feathers, Dante and the fifty giant pigeons launched into the air, heading toward the dense woods.

Joanna immediately grabbed Raven’s hand and activated her spatial ability. With a sharp crack, they vanished. Thanks to her upgraded storage space, the teleportation was remarkably smooth, entirely free of exhaustion. They materialized instantly on a high, moss-covered ridge right alongside the flock.

Dante tilted his head in genuine avian surprise, letting out a series of rhythmic coos.

“Dante says he is highly impressed with your flying,” Raven translated.

Joanna gave the bird president a crisp nod. “Where’s the target?”

Dante turned his beak toward a shadowy ravine below, where the air vibrated with a low, sickening thrum

“The monster is in there,” Raven whispered, listening to Dante’s mental warning. “But he says we must be careful. If the plant releases too much pulsing energy, the shockwaves will completely destroy the nests.”

“Stay here with the flock,” Joanna ordered, pushing Raven gently behind a massive pigeon. “This thing is too volatile for both of us.”

Before Raven could protest, Joanna pulled on her spatial anchor and dropped straight into the shallow ravine.

She materialized in a flash of light, her boots slamming into damp earth right in front of the pulser plant. The monster was horrific-a towering mass of coiled green and violet tendrils, crowned by white, orchid- like flowers blooming along its central stalk. Before she could swing, the air rippled. The plant unleashed a concussive wave of kinetic energy. The pulse punched Joanna square in the chest, the invisible force rattling her ribs and throwing her backward.

Growling, Joanna activated her strength ability. Her muscles surged with supernatural power as she caught herself, dug her boots into the dirt, and charged.

She swung her sickle sword, shearing through a dozen thick, whipping violet vines. But the monster was way too smart. It anticipated her arc, using a secondary cluster of tendrils to snare her sword arm while a heavy root slammed into her side. Joanna gasped, using her enhanced strength to rip the vines apart with her bare hands, spraying foul green sap across the forest floor.

Suddenly, the plant shifted. Its root system tore free from the earth, coiling tightly to form thick, multi- jointed legs. It began chasing Joanna, scuttling forward with terrifying speed.

Joanna teleported out of its reach, blinking twenty feet to the left, but the intelligent creature immediately

anticipated the spatial rift. The moment she materialized, a wall of vines pinned her down against the ravine wall.

She was completely wrapped, the suffocating tendrils tightening around her limbs and throat. Joanna thrashed, using every ounce of her strength to tear at the bindings while desperately swinging her sickle sword in short, brutal arcs. She was losing ground. The constriction was overwhelming, and she could feel her energy draining.

Desperate to escape, Joanna triggered her spatial teleportation to pull herself into her personal pocket

the vines were wrapped too tightly, completely interwoven with her body. As the spatial warp snapped int place, her upgraded storage space didn’t just take her-it swallowed the entire mass of the pulsing monster right along with her.

Joanna slammed onto the grass near her vineyard, the suffocating grip of the vines still tight around her body. Adrenaline surged through her, and she opened her mouth to scream, ready to panic as she braced for the final, lethal constriction inside her own pocket dimension.

Then, the pressure stopped.

The plant froze entirely. Its whipping tendrils went dead silent, paralyzed as if completely stunned to suddenly find itself in a completely different world. The white, orchid-like flowers atop its central stalk twitched, turning slowly from side to side. It seemed to look around the vast expanse of the internal land, taking in the sight of the endless, lush green vineyards and the peaceful animals grazing safely inside their

pens.

The suffocating grip loosened. The vines slowly uncoiled, and the massive plant took a cautious step back on its root-legs.

Joanna scrambled backward onto the grass, clutching her bruised ribs. Panic flooded her mind. Will it destroy my farm? My livestock? What about the villa?

Instead of pulsing, the monster began swaying its violet tendrils in slow, fluid gestures, trying to communicate. Seeing Joanna’s apprehension, it gently extended a slender green vine, weaving it tightly around her wrist like a bracelet. Something is wrong! This mutant killer should not be gentle.

Joanna snarled, reaching down to rip it off.

No, please, don’t take it off, a voice echoed directly inside her head. You can understand me this way.

Joanna froze, looking from her wrist to the towering monster.

The plant’s voice was clear and sweet, sounding almost like a child.

The energy here is amazing, the voice chimed inside her head. It’s a part of you.

Still out of breath, Joanna stood up shakily. “Yes,” she spoke aloud, her voice raspy. “This is my storage space.”

The monster shook its leafy frame, its thoughts bursting with excitement. I love it here! So sweet! The ground is so pure!

The giant plant vibrated and shivered all over, seemingly intoxicated by the rich, untainted soil. Joanna watched it closely, still guarded. “Do you have a name?”

No, the plant replied simply.

“What do you eat?”

The orchid-topped creature ran a gentle vine along the grass, almost as if petting the earth. Just the sun and the dirt. Can I stay? With you?
