Chapter 204 A Call For Help
Joanna turned to Jake “Where is everyone on leveling up?”

“Other than Raven and Allen, we are all level three,” Jake replied. “We have errough cores for Allen and Raven to hit level three too.”
Joanna let out a long breath and smiled. “Good work! I was worried with how fast everything is happening. But I need my team better than any man, zombie, animal, or plant out there.”
Everyone around the table nodded in serious agreement.
Just then, Briggs and Will stepped back into the tent. Their faces were solemn, completely stripping away the lighter mood in the room.
“Joanna,” Briggs said, his tone heavy. “We need to talk.”
He pulled out a chair and sat down next to Jake and Julian. The tension in the air was palpable as everyone leaned in.
“When we were in Eldon, I messaged Major Levi to tell him about Jax’s plans,” Briggs explained, resting his hands on the table. “If there is one person in the military who hates Jax more than I do, it’s him. We are not close by any means, but you know the old saying. The enemy of my enemy…”
Joanna finished softly, “…is my friend.”
Briggs nodded grimly. “Exactly.”
“Well, figuring he could end Jax for good, Levi took his convoy to intercept them north of Eldon,” Briggs
continued.
“You mean Tech Valley?” Julian asked, his brow furrowing.
Briggs nodded. “But his friend Elliot has deep connections there.”
Julian nodded grimly, his business instincts kicking in. “Both Elliot and I had office branches there. He even has several properties he used to own, meaning supplies and tactical resources would be incredibly easy for him to get.”
Briggs let out a heavy, defeated sigh. “Well, Levi bit off more than he could chew. He landed there, and Elliot had him completely pinned down as soon as he arrived. Levi’s convoy was able to inflict heavy casualties on Jax’s army, but now, Elliot’s men have brought in a massive zombie horde to completely surround them.”
The table grew quiet as the strategic nightmare laid itself out.
“The only way out for Levi is through the south,” Briggs explained, tapping the map. “But that whole southern exit is locked down by several gang factions because the area is packed with food warehouses.”
Julian spoke up again, his voice dropping into a dangerous, calculated register. “I would put money on it that Elliot has connections with those gangs. He likely gave them strict orders to keep your friend’s team locked down so the horde can finish them off.”

Chapter 204 Gall For Help
Finished
After a moment, Briggs continued, his eyes tracking the lines on the map. “He has a week of water and rations left, but very little ammo. He did mention some of his men have powers, but they are too low-level to do much good.”
Jake, as a fellow soldier, immediately understood the gravity of the situation and spoke up. “They are sitting ducks then.”
Will nodded grimly. “Yeah. Sitting ducks.”
The silence in the room stretched thin as everyone looked at Joanna, waiting to see if they were going to scavenge for winter or launch a rescue mission into a military trap.
Joanna looked at the map, calculating timelines. “I have less than two weeks to get our people to Evercrest. We still want to hit Westridge as well, Briggs.”
Briggs sighed heavily. “Look, I get it. But I feel guilty for getting him into this mess. If you are worried about supplies, I have soldiers who can stay behind and scavenge.”
Joanna frowned, her eyes narrowing. “I know, Briggs. But are you expecting me to take care of Major Levi and his men too?”
Briggs quickly shook his head. “No. But if I can get him out; we can send him directly to the base in Evercrest. It would hold him up for the winter, and he would be close by in case Jax comes after us.”
Joanna drummed her fingers on the table, looking across at Caleb. “What do you think?”
Caleb, who had been listening intently, nodded slow. “I can’t help you with Levi since he is too far. But if you leave some of the team here, the rest of Briggs’ men can get everyone safely to Westridge for the supply run.”
Julian spoke up, tapping the edge of the map. “From here to Tech Valley is only a day of travel normally. But with the current dangers of the road, it will probably take us two days to get there.”
The room grew quiet again as Joanna weighed the two-day trek against their tightening two-week deadline to reach Evercrest.
Julian added, leaning over the map. “I also have some connections there. If we can get to my branch area, they would be able to help us as well.”
The grim lines on his face relaxed slightly as he calculated the corporate resources he still had on the grid. Having safe houses, extra supplies, and loyal local assets in Tech Valley completely changed the tactical equation.
Joanna stopped drumming her fingers, her eyes moving between the Westridge sector and the Tech Valley coordinates. With Julian’s branch network as a staging ground and Briggs’ men handling the winter supply run, a high-speed rescue operation was actually starting to look feasible.
Joanna spoke up, her voice cutting through the tension. “Before I decide, Caleb, I need you to try your best to figure out what the situation is in Tech Valley. Briggs, if we leave, I need you to give me your plan for supplies and getting everyone to Westridge. I have not even had time to figure everything out with the warehouse in my space.”
